Change variant when clicking on variant picture (Debutify)

Hey you all,

I got the problem, that I want the variant to change, if a customer clicks on the associated variant picture.

I used to have the Venture theme and it worked with the following manual:

Now that I'm using the Debutify theme it doesn't seem to work anymore. Maybe I have to add parts of the code somewhere else?
Hopefully somebody of you can help me!
