How can I alter automatic variant selection on product pages?

Hello

 

When a customer clicks on a product, the first option of every variant is auto-selected. How do I change this? For example in the screenshot, I would prefer the 'Product Type' to have the text 'Choose Option' instead of automatically selecting 'Print Only'.

 

As a bonus, I would really like if certain 'Print Size' options would be hidden depending on the 'Product Type' selected.

 

Any help would be truly appreciated!

Hello @PathoStudio Depending on theme this may be a theme setting double check the product template and any variant-picker blocks, or if there is a global setting.

I'm using a newer 2.0 theme and can't find a solution. Could you perhaps guide me to an existing post?

It varies by theme whichever theme your using if your DIY'ing it alone you have to do the legwork.

I'm using Dawn 2.0. There does not appear to be any setting within Shopify and I'm not having much luck finding the info I need.
