How can I switch products without reloading the page?

I have seen in multiple sites the possiblity to add inside the product page a switch component to change among different products without loading the page. How's this possible ? Maybe you can solve it using variants ?

can you just disable lazyload or animation

JavaScript!  The path in the URL is changing, but you're not really changing to a different page.  If you refresh the page then you will then be on that products page.   They will have a custom product page that looks up a number of products from a collection and treats them like variants... but they will in fact be individual products.
