Personalized checkout and custom promotions with Shopify Scripts
In order to speed up my Shopify store, I deleted the data of a few applications that I have used in the past in my theme. Then I get such a warning on my website "Liquid error: Could not find asset snippets/layouthub_header.liquid". What should I do ?
Hello @Ahmett!
Editing the code can often cause issues like this, which is why for the future I would recommend you duplicate your theme following these steps here before you edit the code. That way if something goes wrong, you will at least be able to go back to your theme the way it was.
To try and fix this, have you already attempted to roll back your theme to an older version? When an issue like this occurs, rolling back will mean you bring back everything that you took out and it should resolve that error. I have the steps on how you can do this here.
If this does not work for you, the next steps here depend on the theme that you are using - could you let me know what the name of it is?
If you are using one of our free Shopify themes, then our Themes team would be able to look into this issue for you. Please do note that when it comes to code coming from third party sources such as apps, it is not guaranteed that our team will be able solve this, however by having a closer look they could guide you in the right direction, like for example if this was some other code interfering, they may be able to find out exactly which app is causing this and you could look to their support also.
If you are using a third party theme, you will need to go to the developers of that theme directly and they will be able to take a look at the code for you. If you're not sure how to contact them, again, please do let me know the name of your theme and I will see if I can help you find their contact details.
If the developers cannot help, an option for you would be to contact a Shopify Expert. Shopify Experts are people who work externally to Shopify and charge their rates based on the work that they do. They can help with third party theme related issues involving the code like this.
Lastly, you mentioned that you were deleting the app code from the theme because you wanted to improve your store speed, - are you finding issues with this lately? Just in case you're looking for other ways to speed up your site, I have a help doc here that details some other ways that you can do this, while also informing you of contributing factors to site speed that you can and cannot control.
