Personalized checkout and custom promotions with Shopify Scripts
No.
Shopify would never email a merchant from an @gmail.com email address. We have seen this before for a number of our clients; disregard and report it into Shopify if you can - this forum post likely alerted them to it...not much they can do to prevent it from happening other than to inform folks to be cautious.
Take care.

READ the friendly manual, not just the part on phishing but all of it , your business literally depends on software and procedures you should know.

Hi @jociva 👋 No it's phishing spam scam.
Do NOT respond or click any links in such emails.
In your email client also disable auto loading images as that's used to track if you opened it and thus are indicated your email address is an active target to MORE spam.
"how do I know this is a trusted email address"
This question shouldn't even be asked to a scammer.
You think a scammer is going to admit they are scamming you.
Verify such things EXTERNALLY from sources you've already previously verified.
Otherwise your just painting yourself as a target for their other not so obvious scams.
if your initial action is to engage with obvious scams see if your local community college has relevant courses on internet security etc and take them.
