product page - order quantity variable

Hi all, I need to add into the Google Tag Manager dataLayer of the product page the variable to track the quantity of the item added to the cart along with the product collection. So far I've tried {{product.collections}} that is returning an empty string and {{product.type}} that's not working either, since it's returning a multiple value of product types, rather than the collection. I was wondering which Shopify variables you would recommend me to track the product category and order quantity of the product card.  Thank you!
