Redirect /shop page

Hello

We noticed Shopify automatically creates a /shop page showing the content of the homepage, which we would like to redirect to our website homepage but this does not seem possible using the URL redirects in Shopify. Why is this page created and how can it be redirected?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some guidance with setting up URL redirects, to get this resolved. While URL redirects have the intention of redirecting traffic from one page to another, there are some restrictions to the feature. I recommend checking out our URL Redirects documentation for more information on this. 

Currently, URL's are required to be broken (i.e populate a 404 error) in order to work as expected and have some limitations with certain prefixes. The following prefixes; /apps,/application,/cart,/carts,/orders,/shop, or/servicescannot be used for creating redirects as they are reserved by our system. The prefix /shop, will always lead to your storefront and would be considered expected behaviour.

It's completely understandable how this may not be ideal, but am happy to make note of this limitation with our Developers. We are always looking for ways to improve the platform and appreciate this feedback.
