Why does a script error prevent multiple product checkout?

Hi,

When I want to order 2 products or more on my store, I can not access the checkout. I have a notification saying: ''An error occured, and we're unable to process your order at this time. Please contact customer service for assistance. ''

Can someone explain what is the issue?
