Why isn't my shipping calculator working on my website?

Hi there, I recently changed the code on my website to add the option to add a shipping calculator without customers having to fill in all the details on checkout and only then know how much to pay.

It is all coming up alright but when I fill in the country then ZIP code then click "Calculate shipping", nothing happens and it just stays a blank space. I am not too familiar with coding so if anyone could help figure this one out! 

Then another thing is that after a little while my checkout turned from being a checkout page into more of a pop-up that slides on the side so if you could let me know if it would have something to do with the code or if it's just something that could be done in the settings, thank you!!!
