Hi,
While investigating building an app using the App Proxy it seems every request incurs about 200ms of latency, even if the request itself is serviced by Cloudflare in the same data center.
As we all now know that request latency is super important, some would say critical, to e-commerce conversion rate, is Shopify planning on reducing the latency of requests?
Right now it takes less time for data for a single packet to go from New York City to Sydney, Australia, and back than it takes to make a single request through the App Proxy.
Thanks,
Rusty
App Proxy is slower than a direct server request.
I wish also that something would be done on this.
There is a nice article by Jason where you can see the difference between CDN and Proxy calls: https://freakdesign.com.au/blogs/news/76831303-use-your-own-domain-instead-of-shopify-cdn-in-image-u...
