How to optimize checkout speed?

Good day to you all,

Our checkout page is very slow, the maximum I achieved with Google PageSpeed Insights was 16%.
Here I did find some information why it would be so slow, but this all refers to bits of code I can't find in my code.
Probably this code is located elsewhere, and I don't have access to it.
We use the Motion theme, we do have some apps running, but according to Google PageSpeed Insights they don't slow down the checkout page.
Do you have any tips or tricks to optimize the speed for the checkout page?
A lot of clients click away now because it takes too long.
