By following these steps, you can significantly speed up a Shopify site:

  • Choose a Lightweight Shopify Theme from Shopify Theme Store
  • Reduce Large Images size
  • Compress Images
  • Minifiy Js, and css files.
  • Remove the Unnecessary Apps from your Store.
  • Find the unnecessary Script into your Store And remove it.

@Mayur28  the easiest way to see what optimization issues your Shopify site has is with the Shopify Analyzer.

You'll see what are the issues + how to fix each one.

My team (Speed Boostr) built that tool free for the community, and provides free optimization guides linked there so you can optimize in-house if you prefer.

Also since you mentioned mobile specifically, an extra tactic you can employ is AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages). Here's a guide how to do that: AMP Guide for Shopify.

Hello @Mayur28,

You will get more conversions if your site loads faster. Follow the below tips that will help you decrease the load on your web pages.

1. Image compression is important and a necessity for faster loading web pages. Make sure your images are of good quality and do not add too many images on a single page.
2. Reduce the HTTP requests. For example: Combine & inline your CSS scripts
3. Minimize broken links and redirects - Avoid unnecessary Redirects and fix broken links
4. Using slideshow, which are high-quality images combined with transitions, take time to load when the user clicks the link to the homepage. So instead you can use a single high-quality hero image.
5. Always choose a theme that is responsive, fast, and takes minimal time to load the page
If you choose a theme with numerous sliders, fancy animations, advanced navigation systems, etc., will affect your page speed. If your theme is loading slow, consider disabling the theme features you don't need.
6. Don't add too many images on a page
Adding too many images on a page can be frustrating. It can significantly slow the load time of your website. Also, it can overwhelm visitors, which will ultimately result in a poor user experience, a high bounce rate, and a high probability of lower rankings in relative search results.
7. Use Lazyload wherever required to reduce initial load time
8. Remove all unwanted Shopify Apps which you are not using
You should disable app features you don't use, or you can remove the app if you don't need it. If you are removing an app make sure to remove code that was added as part of the app install process.
9. Replace GIFs with static images
10. You can run the Shopify Theme Inspector for Chrome to identify the lines of code that are slowing down pages in your online store.
11. You can use Google PageSpeed Insights to view more detailed metrics for pages in your store.

Google Search, the world's largest and most trusted FREE ecommerce channel will show more of your store to customers on Google Search if your site is fast. So site speed is critical for organic channel sales. Did you know, ecommerce on organic channels is greater than all paid ads and social media combined. Hey @Mayur28.

Thanks for connecting with us here, and this is a great question! There are already some great suggestions by others in the thread too.

I checked out your mobile site, and it could do with a better speed time. Have you checked your store speed yet using our help center doc here? The longer you put off optimizing your site for speed, the more customers you’ll lose to a faster competitor’s site. A mobile commerce strategy has never been more critical. A fun fact for you is that 67% of sales were made on mobile devices versus 33% on desktop during Black Friday Cyber Monday in 2020! I have a few suggestions below for you to help you improve your site speed:

  • PageSpeed Insights here at this link, is a great tool that enables you to get personalized suggestions to improve your mobile site performance (separately from desktop data). It also calls out the elements on your site that may slow down the page, like CSS and JavaScript so test it out when you have some time. In addition to that, Google’s Test My Site tool over here will help you calculate how site speed can boost your mobile conversion rates.

  • Avoid using too many pop-ups, they can impede a customer’s experience on your ecommerce site as they add an extra step to the customer’s journey and also can be clicked on by accident, which is frustrating to the user.

  • As already mentioned in this thread, another great tip to help improve speed is to decrease the amount of apps on your store. If you have 20+ apps (free or paid ecommerce plugins) installed on your store, you likely aren’t using them all. Maybe you installed some as a trial, then forgot to remove them. But those apps are running in the background, hurting your site performance. The maximum we recommend is around 20.

  • Reduce redirects and broken links, too many redirects and broken links can also disrupt site speed.  You can use Shopify’s built-in redirects function, which are 301s by default within your Navigation panel. Learn more about redirects here.  For possible broken links, use a tool like Broken Link Checker to remove them.

Those are but a few suggestions, however, I would strongly suggest checking out our help guide here on other ways to improve your store speed.

By the way, I wanted to say well done on your store, you're ticking off every box there. I tested your checkout too and all looks good there. Have you thought about implementing a product quiz so that your customers can find the right product for them? It might be a great idea for your backpacks, just a thought! If you'd to implement this on your site, then you could look into a couple of apps with this function here.

Hello, I just took a look at your website, the website does not actually fully enable lazy loading of images, only some modules are enabled. You can open chrome and disable Javascript, and you can see the actual image loading. Lazy loading of images, "data-src" should be used instead of "src" in the img tag. If you take care of these issues, there should be a nice improvement in site speed and PSI score.

@Mayur28 ,

I have gone through your store it looks good.

I understand the importance of increasing page loading times, as this will have great advantage for your Shopify store.

There are lots of images I have seen in your store, you have to optimize the sizes.

3rd party apps & codes which take time to load and their size. They decrease the speed.

See these points.

  • Check the assets folder of the theme and remove unused CSS and JS file
  • Check and remove unused apps
  • If your store has not installed any app you can comment {{ content_for_header }} code in the theme.liquid (not recommended if you don't have knowledge about the liquid)

Also, I have checked your store with the page insight tool. here is the score screenshot.

there are some 3rd party unused javascript files that you cannot remove or minify them.

Defer Offscreen images : These are the  lists all offscreen or hidden images in your page along with the potential savings in kibibytes (KiB). Consider lazy-loading these images after all critical resources have finished loading to lower Time to Interactive:

You can solve this issue by using the lazy loading for your images.

Defer unused CSS :

To defer unused CSS, you can remove unused rules from stylesheets to reduce unnecessary bytes consumed by network activity.

I notice that your store has some code from other third-party apps.

You have to work on following points

  • Theme Upgrade if there is a scope and upgraded theme available
  • Reduce JS Payload.
  • Use Critical CSS .
  • Reduce Large Image Sizes
  • Compress Images
  • Limit Third Party JavaScript & Shopify Apps
  • Preload Web Fonts.
  • I would suggest limiting to one and using a standard web font.

By fixing these issues, your website speed score can definitely improve.

And we will provide an assured guarantee plan for the website speed optimization.
