Online store performance and site speed optimization
My page is loading slow whenever a customer is going to a product page. My website is www.fetchfitters.com. Any help would be appreciated.
You are using 9 different font files, try to streamline your fonts to use a couple.
Your theme is also loading all images in the slider event before they are needed, maybe try to contact them and ask them to lazyload the images.
I checked Your website and found the main page is open with in 1.2 sec and product page open in 2.1 sec.
Try to decrease JS and then You'll see the result.
Aibek is here from Speedimize.io Agency.
You have a very optimized theme, Pagespeed on the product page shows more than 81. From the remarks, it takes 2 seconds for hotjar in total https://prnt.sc/xf1yaz. This is a lot.
Additionally, we found that the Sizing app increases the download speed. Perhaps this is the case.
https://prnt.sc/xf2pff - without sizing the app
https://prnt.sc/xf2u20 - with sizing app.
Pay attention to the boot times with and without this app.
We may be wrong, so check it out. Try to temporarily disable this app, if you can, then open the product page. You should feel the difference.
If you have other questions, do not hesitate contact us.
Hi @Fetchfitters I found a couple actionable items you can fix to improve your load speed:
1) Use JPG instead of PNG for photographic images. Example: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0518/2986/6661/files/Screen_Shot_2020-12-24_at_1.20.24_AM_295x.png...
For photos, JPG provides the same image quality but much lower file weight (PNG can be 2x - 5x larger).
2) Compress all images. This lowers the file weight without compromising quality. Here's how to do that: https://speedboostr.com/how-to-compress-images-on-shopify.
You can find images that need to be compress by running your pages through the Shopify Analyzer (a free performance analysis tool specifically for Shopify sites, that my team built for the community).
Here's a direct link of the results I found from your home page: https://analyze.speedboostr.com/result/fv9cxlnn9g
3) You have some lazy loading warnings. Lazy loading loads images as the user scrolls, rather than at initial page load, lowering resources and page weight, which improve load speed. It looks like you have "placeholder lazy loading" setup, rather than "true lazy loading". This means you're loading smaller thumbnail images at page load, then coming in with the full image as the user scrolls. To fix that, this guide will help: https://speedboostr.com/shopify-lazy-loading.
#1 and #2 you should be able to handle yourself, #3 maybe as well, you'll just have to get in and edit your code (make sure you edit on a backup theme).
If you need help with any of those, feel free to contact my team at speedboostr.com/contact. We optimize Shopify sites every day and can give you a free analysis / quote.
Lastly, be aware of the poster here Aibek / Speedmize. They are a knockoff brand, they've been caught stealing from Speed Boostr and trying to copy our services, but without investing the time and case studies to attain the level of expertise that our team provides.
I personally don't trust knockoff brands to hire in my businesses, it usually means they're low skilled and unethical, that can be dangerous to give access to. Just sharing with you so you have the information to make the best decision.
If you need professional help and my team is not a good fit check the Shopify Experts directory. Anyone can be a Shopify Partner, but to get the Shopify Expert badge is more difficult, there's a vetting process to ensure quality and ethics.
You may be able to handle the optimizations in-house though, we provide plenty of free resources to help people like you out.
