Will many collections slow down store?

Hi!

I would like to know if having many collections can slow down a store.

I have already assigned my products to their correct categories

For example

White wine

Red wine

I also need pages with descriptions about producers and grape varieties. I can do this either with pages or collections.

IF i add these as new collections (for example merlot collection, chardonnay collection etc etc)  i will need about 3 times as much collections in total. 

The collections themselves will not be big, from 5 to maybe 30 products per collection. Also i am not worried about confusing the customers with many collections as i will keep the menu simple and easy.

So, will this have a negative effect on the performance of the website? 

Alternatively i can create /pages with producer or grape profiles and link to the store to show those products

I don't think they will affect anything.
If the page speed slows down, you can try using apps to speed up your website and improve your SEO ranking. There are quite a few very well-reviewed apps out there

You don’t need to worry about the number of collections. We see stores with thousands of collections that still perform well.
