Any feedback welcome on my store, tpaviationart.com

Hello,

We would really appreciate any feedback on our store at www.tpaviationart.com

I do see some traffic, especially with running ads/boosts on FB, Instagram and Pinterest but not any sales nor add to cart.

Besides Instagram, the look around time on site is pretty low (1.5 page less than 20sec; instagram is 4.8 pages and half a minute which I think is pretty good?).

We also put out Twitter (tweets) too; though more recently as we were blocked by accident by Twitter!

We know that our pricing is high and it is not a cheap product, we see competitors with higher prices, and it is really a niche market.

Any feedback is welcome. Pricing, layout, perhaps totally wrong audience (we focus on aviation enthusiasts).

Thank you,

Etienne

Hi @etienne21

Since you have traffic ( FB, Instagram, and Pinterest ) but no sales, it could mean customers don't find your store reliable enough to make a purchase.  Consider implementing more eCommerce marketing tools and features to your online store in order to build customer trust and increase conversions. Here are some suggestions that you can work on. I hope it would be helpful.

  • Implement Social Login

so your customers can log in using their Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Yahoo, Tumblr, Instagram, or Amazon accounts. It simplifies the login process and enables one-click signup through social media, which makes your store user-friendly. Meanwhile gathered data through social login can be studied for customer retention and client analysis

  • Make Menu Sticky

Make your online shop more user-friendly by keeping navigation fixed and remaining visible in the same position as the user moves around the website. Right now, the menu bar on the head of the store disappears when the user scrolls down which is not convenient.

  • Add Review Widget /  Widget Slider for Social Proof and Customer Trust

  • Add Wishlist

Offering a Wishlist is an effective way to reduce shopping cart abandonment and fulfill sales from customers who showed intent but didn't purchase. This is a non-obvious feature that extremely scales your purchases. Since you offer various Aviation Items, I would recommend adding a Wishlist to improve the user experience. If the items from the Wishlist haven't been purchased, automated emails will be sent out as a reminder.

  • Add Referral Program

Once you got your first clients, try to attract more orders through existing ones. Therefore, I recommend using a referral program in order to give your customers an opportunity of sharing your products with friends and get rewarded for that. Through a referral program, you encourage your customers to help grow your brand community.

Hey @etienne21.

Thanks for reaching out.

Looking into the URL that you have provided, I noticed that you do not have a slideshow section as the first section on the online store. This is a great tactic to utilize as it can allow you to showcase more of your products to new customers as soon as they successfully load in. You have beautiful products and this would be a great way to show your customers what your brand is all about.

What do you think about creating a discount code for your customers that sign up for email marketing? It is a great way to encourage to a purchase to your subscribers. You can create a discount directly within the Shopify admin and send it to your customers using Shopify Email

Let me know what you think.

Hi @etienne21

It's PageFly - Best Page Builder App here and I'd like to share some of my initial thoughts when first browsing through your online store. I hope that my recommendations based on 6 years of providing solutions for more than 100.000 merchants can be beneficial to you in improving your store performance.

I have a few more comments to make your pages even better:

1,  Avoid using heading overlapping on background’s text. Although the heading stands out better, it will still create confusion for customers and may ruin the first impression on your store.

For quick reading and professional visuals, use a clean sans-serif font for titles and headings as they’re best suited for screens and hand-held devices like phones and tablets.

2, You can consider adding a secondary hover image to the product image, so that customers can have a quick look at your products without the need to go to the product page. Adding a Call-to-action button on each product can help increase conversion rate for the home page as well.

3, Add an icon to each point to interpret your idea better

4, The testimonials section seems quite vacant. You can try adding 3-4 testimonials, along with customers’ images, or star rating element to make it informative and trustworthy

5, You can use Load More button instead of Pagination, because in Pagination, products from the last pages have lower chance to be bought. Load More button can provide endless experience to customers, thus encouraging them to keep on with the buying process.

5, For canvas product, you can use mockup to see how the canvas will look on different position inside the house, which makes the images more relating.

For Canvas Product, you can check out our template for Canvas’s product page. This template can be used on PageFly page builder, even on Free plan.

For guidance in web design, you can take a look at our Academy to get instruction from our top e-commerce experts in increasing store’s conversion rates

BFCM is coming. You can amplify your sales in holiday season with PageFly solutions exclusively for this holiday season. All these holiday features could help you a lot in building a high-converting page.

Hope your business is successful and gains more sales everyday!

Cheers!

Hello @etienne21

Hope you are doing good. Your store looks nice and here are few suggestions.

  • Make a Sticky header for easy navigation. It helps customer to access menu at any time they want.
  • Make Social links open on new tab.
  • Organize footer section and minimize the empty space.
  • There is no terms and conditions checkbox at checkout. I suggest you to install an app from shopify app store which provides 'I agree to the Terms and Conditions' before checkout .As it makes easy for the customer to read your terms and policies.
  • There is no customer review option on the products. Install Product review app from the Shopify app store, so that customer can write a review when they purchase any product from your store.
  • You can also sell your products on Etsy marketplace as it is very good platform to sell unique, handmade and Vintage goods . If you are already selling on Etsy store consider our Etsy Integration app in the shopify app store. Etsy is a Huge marketplace for selling creative goods such as art & collectibles, crafts & supplies, jewellery &accessories and more,  if you have any unique/handmade/vintage goods in your store, you can give further exposure to your products.
Thanks,

Thank you, the wishlist is a good idea indeed to test.
We will look into social media login too.
The Sticky menu also a nice a idea. Just tried it, and still working on it. The CSS code works, but it messes up my banner image due to my announcement bar (tried option 1 and 2 code snippets as provided here in the community). Further investigation necessary 🙂

You are right, we still needed to develop the newsletter signup experience with a discount and an email marketing app.

We decided against the slideshow as we understand it does slow down your website. Or are we wrong here?

Thank you for your suggestions

  • Still working on the sticky menu as it messes up my image overlay (cutting it in half due to announcement bar).
  • Good one on the socials opening in new tab, I used this code: https://community.shopify.com/c/technical-q-a/open-social-media-button-in-new-tab-debut-theme/td-p/6...And it worked!
  • I will look into the terms & conditions check mark.
  • Customer review should be available at the product page, at least I see it. There are no current reviews of a product though. We used the Shopify Product Review app.
  • Organizing the footer: you mean merging the footer and the quick links into one? Not sure if that is feasible that easily (no idea when/how Shopify 2.0 will come to Debut if that might help)
  • We thought about etsy, will definitively look into that more!
