Hi @iNAIM,

I'm Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App.

Based on my knowledge and experience, it's worth giving a try with the "sign up with your email" pop-up as email popups are a powerful way to capture leads and get them onto your email newsletter list.

Here are some best practices for you to make the most of it:

1. Offer a clear incentive

It’s almost expected that signing up for your mailing list will provide new customers with some sort of discount. But there are other ways to offer value, in the form of:

  • Discount codes
  • Free product with purchase
  • Exclusive content offerings
  • Free content downloads
  • Early access to products, events, etc.

The type of incentive you offer will vary based on your business. Also, you can A/B testing to determine what offers are most likely to convert your visitors.

2. Optimize your CTA

You should aim to reinforce the value of your offer with the language of your CTA, instead of going with the standard “Sign Up” or “Subscribe” option.

3. Get the timing right

There are 3 popular ways to show up your pop-up:

  • Right after someone lands on your site - You can get them on your email list by offering them an immediate chance to grab your lead magnet.
  • Use a timed popup form, when they’ve scrolled 40% to 50% down a page, for instance - This gives them a little time to digest your content, and then ask them if they want your free resource.
  •  When a visitor indicates they’re about to leave your website. In this case, you’ll employ an exit-intent email popup form.

As you might know, targeting is the art and science of matching intent with value. It’s taking what you know about a customer, or a type of customer (through Google Analytics, data enrichment tools, etc.), and using that information to customize how they interact with your site.

But targeting can go even deeper: Using information like user location, past site visits, and other web activity to serve up customized popup experiences.

Hope my answer helps you make a good decision.

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly Team

My site has two popups and I cannot figure out where one of them is coming from.  May be pagefly?  But I uninstalled it and it still shows up?

I don’t think they are. For people like me, I see it more of an obstruction than anything else. You can still leave a section for it on the homepage.

Yes, they are.

Such email pop ups can get your foot in the inbox of a potential customer who may ordinarily not have interacted with your store.

You can't just include a beautifully designed popup anywhere on your website, you have to dig into the mind of your customers using available data and simple psychology. Finetune your efforts by setting triggers and targeting rules that capture attention at different points.

It's all about getting the right message, using the right timing, CTA, and hook (something of value ) to attract visitors and encourage them to give their emails.

There are many popup builders that can help you achieve this. I personally recommend Poptin

Hope this helps 🙂

Hey @iNAIM,

Sign up with email pop-ups can be a great way to obtain customers, but it's important to make sure that they are done correctly. If the pop-up is too intrusive or annoying, it will likely backfire and drive customers away.

Here are a few tips for creating effective sign up with email pop-ups:

  • Make sure the pop-up is relevant to the content that the visitor is viewing. For example, if the visitor is viewing a product page, the pop-up should ask them to sign up for your email list to receive updates about the product.
  • Keep the pop-up short and to the point. Visitors are more likely to close a pop-up if it is too long or complicated.
  • Offer an incentive for visitors to sign up. This could be a discount, exclusive content, or early access to new products.
  • Test different placements and times to see what works best for your store. Some people prefer pop-ups that appear as soon as they land on a page, while others prefer them to appear after a certain amount of time or after they have viewed a certain number of pages.
  • Track the performance of your pop-ups to see how many leads they are generating. This will help you determine which pop-ups are most effective and make necessary adjustments.

If you're looking for a way to create beautiful and effective pop-ups, then I recommend Picreel. It is a powerful and easy-to-use pop-up builder that can help you create pop-ups in minutes, without any coding knowledge. You can also track the performance of your pop-ups to see what's working and what's not.

I hope these tips help you create effective sign up with email pop-ups for your store.
