Best idea to give products away for donations to charities?

Can someone please help me figure way to offer my unique products to people that donate to charity? My current method was to sell the products for $1 nonrefundable reservation fee and then give person 2 weeks to provide proof of required donation before relisting item if someone doesnt perform required actions but my sponsor doesn't like that i keep the $1. 

Perhaps if there someway people can leave comments on displayed products that are not for sell or let people bid on the products so then i can place auction on hold while instructing bidder to provide donation verification.

I also need way to display the products that were already sent to donors.

What other ideas are there?
