Hi there,

Our store has been live since July 2024, and while we are getting great traffic, we’re experiencing a very high bounce rate (100%) and an average session duration of 0 seconds—visitors are landing on the site and leaving immediately.

Our site performance and loading speed seem to be fine, so we’re not sure what’s causing this issue.

We would greatly appreciate your feedback on our store to see if there are any changes we can make to improve engagement. You can check out the store here: www.mpamstore.com.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands such as Logitech and Nike. We have some previous experience in boosting sales for stores. I have reviewed your online store and hope our expertise can help you boost your conversion rate.

In order to boost conversion rates, evaluating and improving design elements could be an ideal first step. I would suggest considering a more appealing theme or optimizing your current layout to enhance visual appeal and usability. Ensure that product pages are informative and engaging, with clear calls to action, high-quality images, and customer reviews for social proof. You will need a better-quality video in the hero section to grab their attention while visiting since it is the first section your customers will see while visiting your site.

In addition, you would need some upgrades for the product pages. You need to upload more products since so far your store only has one product page. The pages should provide detailed information about each item, including high-quality images, clear descriptions, and specifications. High-quality product images are crucial, they should be vivid and ideally show the product to help customers visualize its use. After you upload more products, a well-organized menu is also important since it allows users to find what they need quickly, reducing frustration and abandonment rates.

On the other hand, you can consider enhancing your marketing strategies. I would suggest launching multi-types of ads. For example, retargeting ads can be particularly effective, as they remind visitors of products they viewed and encourage them to return and complete their purchase, ultimately boosting conversion rates for stores. Additionally, explore options like Google Ads, which often yield better conversion rates than social media advertising, especially when targeting users who haven’t visited your site but recently searching for products similar to yours.

To help you launch retargeting ads more effectively, I would recommend our app Ako marketing app, which can help you manage campaigns more effectively and target the right audience based on the CRM dashboard data, potentially driving more traffic to your site even when you’re not running ads. You can create a more inviting shopping experience that encourages visitors to convert into customers by integrating this strategy.

Hi @happyforever! I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.

Thank you for reaching out to Shopify Community! I understand your concerns about bounce rates and session durations, and I’d like to offer some honest feedback on your homepage, along with actionable suggestions.

First impressions:
Your homepage presents a clear focus on your products, but it currently lacks the polish and professionalism that visitors expect when shopping online. The design feels more like a starting template and doesn’t strongly communicate your brand’s identity or build immediate trust.

Key concerns from my point of view:
- Visual Design: The dark background, minimal styling, blurry gifs and text-heavy layout make it hard for visitors to engage. Adding a more professional design with better visual hierarchy (e.g., high-quality banners, consistent fonts) would elevate the experience.
- Branding & Trust: Your homepage doesn’t prominently showcase trust signals like customer reviews, testimonials, or trust badges. These are critical to convincing visitors they’re in the right place.
- Calls-to-Action: There are very few CTAs guiding visitors to take action. For example, your “Free Worldwide Shipping” banner could include a clickable link, and adding buttons like “Shop Now” near product descriptions would make it easier to explore.

Suggestions for improvement:
- Invest in a more professional Shopify theme or work with a designer to create a homepage that feels visually cohesive and aligned with your brand.
- Highlight your unique selling points—what makes your store and products stand out from competitors? Include engaging visuals or videos that showcase your products in action.
- Build trust by adding customer reviews, testimonials, and visible security signals (e.g., payment badges or guarantees).
- Focus on optimizing navigation and making CTAs more actionable. For example, consider adding a featured section for “Best Sellers” or “Customer Favorites” to guide visitors to key products.
- The email subscription box currently appears at the bottom of the homepage. Moving it higher up or using a pop-up with an incentive (e.g., “Sign up for 10% off your first order”) could help capture more leads.

While your store shows potential, these changes are essential to attract and retain visitors effectively. Please let me know if you’d like further advice or support—I’d be happy to assist!

Hi @happyforever ,

Hey! A 100% bounce rate and 0 session duration often indicate that visitors are leaving your site too quickly, which could be related to your site's performance or user experience. Here are some suggestions to help:

  1. Improve Page Load Speed: I tested your homepage https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-www-mpamstore-com/7qnnlnilyu?form_factor=mobile and the mobile performance score is low with a high LCP (Largest Contentful Paint). The banner image seems to be the main culprit. To fix this:
    • Compress images and switch to next-gen formats like WebP.
    • Prioritize loading the banner image with parameters like loading="eager" and fetchpriority="high".
  2. Lazy Load Non-Essential Content: For images and videos that aren’t immediately needed, implement lazy loading. This will help reduce initial load time.
  3. Mobile Optimization: Ensure your site is mobile-friendly with a mobile-first design. Test it on various devices to make sure it works well everywhere.
  4. Simplify Navigation: A cluttered or confusing navigation menu can lead users to leave fast. Keep it clean and make key pages easy to find.
  5. Check Your Traffic Sources: Make sure your traffic is coming from the right places (ads, social media, etc.). Irrelevant traffic can also contribute to a high bounce rate.

Improving page load speed and optimizing for mobile should help lower your bounce rate and improve session duration.

If these steps don’t make a noticeable impact, consider using Website Speedy (available on the Shopify App Store) for more performance tweaks. It’s easy to set up and could boost your site's speed significantly. Here’s the link: https://apps.shopify.com/website-speedy

Hi @happyforever

I understand you're facing an issue with your Shopify store, where you're seeing a 100% bounce rate and an average session duration of 0 seconds. This typically indicates that visitors are leaving your site immediately upon arrival. Let's explore some potential causes and solutions to help improve user engagement on your site.

  1. Analytics Configuration Issues

Sometimes, such metrics result from improper analytics setup. If you're using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), it's essential to ensure that it's correctly integrated with your Shopify store. Misconfigurations can lead to inaccurate data reporting. Double-check your GA4 settings to confirm that all tracking codes are properly installed and firing as intended.

  1. Page Load Speed

Even if your site appears to load quickly on your devices, it's crucial to test its performance across various devices and networks. Tools like Google PageSpeed Insights can provide a comprehensive analysis of your site's speed and offer suggestions for improvement. For instance, large images or unoptimized code can slow down load times, leading to higher bounce rates.

  1. User Experience and Design

First impressions matter. If visitors find your site's design unappealing or navigation confusing, they're likely to leave immediately. Consider the following enhancements:

  • Professional Theme: Invest in a high-quality Shopify theme that aligns with your brand and offers a cohesive visual experience.
  • Clear Call-to-Actions (CTAs): Incorporate prominent and actionable CTAs, such as "Shop Now" buttons, to guide users towards desired actions.
  • Trust Signals: Display customer reviews, testimonials, and security badges to build credibility and trust with your audience.
  1. Traffic Quality

Analyze your traffic sources to ensure that your visitors are genuinely interested in your products. Irrelevant or misdirected traffic can result in high bounce rates. Review your marketing campaigns, ad targeting, and referral sources to confirm they're attracting the right audience.

  1. Content Relevance

Ensure that your landing pages deliver on the promises made in your ads or search results. If visitors don't find what they expect upon arrival, they're more likely to leave immediately. Align your content with user intent and make sure it's engaging and informative.

Next Steps

  • Audit Your Analytics Setup: Verify that all tracking codes are correctly implemented and that data is being accurately recorded.
  • Optimize Site Performance: Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to identify and fix performance bottlenecks.
  • Enhance Mobile Experience: Ensure your site is fully responsive and offers a seamless experience across all devices.
  • Improve User Engagement: Revamp your site's design, navigation, and content to make it more appealing and user-friendly.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.

Best regards,

Daisy
