I just opened my website two weeks ago. My products are available for purchase on my website, Shop, and Google Shopping currently. I'm in the process of researching SEO and marketing strategies. I have only had two sales and wondering if someone can review my website and tell me if you I'm on track.

Thank you!

Hi @RachelLuedke

I am Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. I really like the simple and elegant design of the page. It's easy to navigate and I can quickly find the information I'm looking for. From my CRO expertise, I have some feedback for your Store and hope that they can help you increase the design.

1. A transparent background for favicon

PageFlyGarcia_0-1697514600049.png

It's generally recommended to have a favicon with a transparent background. Using a favicon with a transparent background allows it to blend seamlessly with the browser interface, providing a polished and professional look.

2. Rewrite the CTA button

Aligning the button on the banner is crucial which will create a polish look and balance layout for your site.

Adding for example a "Discover Now" button instead of placing the "About Us" button at the top of the page can be a strategic choice

PageFlyGarcia_1-1697514600226.png

3. Highlight the Halloween collection

A highlighted collection draws attention to specific products, potentially leading to increased sales. Shoppers looking for Halloween-themed items are more likely to make a purchase when they see a dedicated collection.

PageFlyGarcia_2-1697514600129.png

4. Reduce number of products on Home Page

With fewer products, you can give each one more prominence. This can be particularly effective for showcasing bestsellers, new arrivals, or special promotions.

PageFlyGarcia_3-1697514600135.png

You can consider this layout for example

PageFlyGarcia_4-1697514600139.png

4. Add secondary hover image for products media

It provides customers with a dynamic visual experience. When they hover over a product, they get to see an alternative view, helping them make a more informed purchasing decision.

It can be: images of models wearing your products, call-out featured images …

5. Always Highlight Core Product and Brand Features on the Homepage

The homepage is often the first page visitors see. By showcasing core product and brand features, you quickly communicate what sets your products apart and what your brand stands for. It can be information about your materials (eco-friendly, sustainable,...), how you pack your order or any unique features about your products.

I've noticed you've already begun preparing content for Halloween. However, I'd like to propose considering the following suggestions to further optimize your website's performance during this festive season. Implementing these ideas will ensure your site stands out and excels in this holiday period.

  • Create Festive Landing Pages: Develop dedicated landing pages for specific holiday promotions or events. These pages can showcase exclusive deals and deliver a unified holiday experience for visitors.
  • Introduce Special Holiday Offers: Provide unique holiday promotions, discounts, or special deals to entice customers. Display these offers prominently on your website to capture the attention of potential buyers.
  • Offer Gift Wrapping Services: Include an option for gift wrapping during the checkout process to make it convenient for customers who are purchasing gifts for others.

Cheers,
Garcia

Hi @RachelLuedke,
Your store looks nice, a good attepmt 🙂
Thera re few things that I think you should consider:
1. Following text link redirects to 404 page, link it properly.

20% Off Your 1st Order with Code FRIENDS at Checkout - FREE Shipping on Orders $100+
2. Review color scheme again.

3. Header size should be reduced and top banner size should be increased.

4. Footer: Why the column  next to "About" is empty?

Good Look!

Hello RachelLuedke,

Thanks for reaching out to the community!

I must say you have an amazing website and great products; however, with a little more effort, your website can be completely optimized for the search engines and get a better ranking on the search engine results page (SERP).

  1. Optimize Page Speed of the Website: I used PageSpeed Insights to check the speed of your website on both mobile and desktop devices, and found that the performance of the website on both devices is not up to the mark. However, you can optimize the speed of the website on both devices by:
    1. Implement lazy loading for the hidden or offscreen images on the web pages to reduce the overall loading time of the webpage
    2. Compress the file size of the images
    3. Remove dead JavaScript and CSS from the website
    4. Eliminate the render-blocking resources
    5. Avoid large network payloads
  2. Add an accessible name to the buttons: The buttons without names are simply read as ‘Buttons’ by screen readers; however, having a name for these buttons helps in optimizing the webpage for voice search or voice assistants.
  3. Add Alt Text for all the Images: The social icons on the website do not have alt text.

You can also encourage your customers to share feedback about your website, which can help you identify further scope of improvement on your website.

Best Regards!

Hi @RachelLuedke ,

Your store looks great, well done!

Some small tweaks you could try:

1. Reduce the size of your logo, so your interactive content sits more "above the fold".

2. On your hompage - try adding a product carousel at the top and some category block/tiles. E.g instead of the 5 lifestyle images of ladies, you could have a "Shop Tshirts" block, "Shop Halloween" block etc.

3. Make the "Free Delivery" stand out more. This is a USP, you can make it work more for you.

4. Colour Scheme - As Zarri said, it might be worth revisiting this. The colour (#f2e4d4) that you used on your homepage, might look good as the main colour scheme behind your logo and in the footer.

5. Experiment with Collections, you could create unique collections that suit a particular niche like pets/dogs/funny/kids or even particular breeds of dogs and select products which fit into these niches. It will also help with SEO.

Best of luck with your store.

Hi RachelLuedke, I like the look of your store and the product you are selling!

Other than improving marketing & SEO, there's one more area you can try out. I would suggest launching a post-purchase marketing attribution survey to collect responses over time and find out where your customers are truly coming from, and then focus more efforts and money on those marketing channels.

You should be able to quickly set one up by searching on the Shopify App store. I suggest checking out Gojiberry Survey & Feedback, its free to use and has templates to help you setup quickly.

Hope this helps!

Hi @RachelLuedke

I'd work on getting a hero message on your hero image so shoppers can tell instantly what you sell - use the strapline from your logo "Merch for dog lovers and coffe enthusiasts". Also make sure you have a call to action button over your hero image above the fold (Shop Now). Ditch the About us and Contact Us buttons on the hero image - links to these should be in the footer (which they are!). Hope that helps
