Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to reach out and get people's opinion our clothing store, Aleph, and the respective website: wearaleph.com
We just recently started and wanted feedback on the layout of the store and any feedback as potential consumers. Friends & Family aren't always the most critical! We want to make sure there is good conversion and that the products (currently only 1), is displayed clearly but with attention to style.
Also, any product feedback would be great. When we sell in person people are ALWAYS extremely surprised by the incredible softness of our fabric on the outside and the specific way our cotton feels on the inside. We use a specific type of process to make that cotton very smooth. It is also a heavy weight hoodie which we tried to emphasize in the title.
Thanks everyone.
Hello there @aleph my first observation right off the back was the sticky header color selection. I think it should be edited because it could give people some trouble seeing it since it’s white and that could affect user experience early on.
Another suggestion would be to add a video or 2 to the gallery especially as you expand your products range as your store grows. It makes your site and products much more attractive.
Lastly, it would be a good idea to add a few FAQs on the homepage.
Hey @aleph -
Congrats on the store. Our experience has shown that having the size chart next to the Size variant is better placement then within tabs.
If you have reviews from local shoppers, it sounds like you do. I would collect those and use them on your store. We often recommend adding a section to each product page with a specific customer review when you don't have volume.
If you plan on expanding the selection, I would drop Shop from the header and simply make your menu the different collections. Everything else can be placed in the footer. Make the above the fold area all about getting people to products and buying.
Hi! Thank you for suggestions, so many people have left feedback and we're super excited to try to implement them!
As for your suggestion about feedback, how do you recommend we collect the reviews and display them?...
1) Most, if not all, have been in person or word of mouth. How do we convert these sales to now be displayed on the website?
2) What app would you recommend?
3) How would you entice new incoming shoppers to leave a review?
Thank you!
Hi @aleph,
I visited your website, and it looks quite simple. You should improve the cart, create bundles, add a text scrolling feature, include a reviews section, and add an announcement bar. There are also many other areas that need improvement.
Hi! Thank you for suggestions, I appreciate you taking the time to review.
As for your suggestions...
What do you mean by "improve the cart" and creating bundles? We don't have much experience in building stores so any detail helps!
Thank you.
Hi @,Aleph
Thanks for reaching out to the community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.
First, your store looks stunning and it has quite enough essential information. However, we can make it even better. Please check some of my recommendations below.
1. Optimize the hero section
The hero section is the first thing visitors see and it sets the tone for the entire experience of your web visitors. It plays a key role in converting more sales from your customers too!
Try to take advantage of this by adding a compelling headline. It should be your brand’s slogan or key message that highlights your unique selling proposition.
Here’s a good example:
2. Add a second image on hover
Having a second image on hover allows customers to see the product from different angles. This will also keep them on the page longer, which can reducing bounce rates.
Here’s an example:
3. Add an FAQ page
A comprehensive FAQ page can significantly improve sales by addressing common customer concerns and streamlining the purchase process.
You're not just providing information but you're actively addressing barriers to purchase, building trust, and creating a smoother shopping experience through the FAQs.
An FAQ page can look like this:
4. Add a live chat widget
Live chat assists potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time. This can prevent abandonment and encourage purchases.
I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

Hi @aleph,
The current pages on your store look quite good, but I think you should consider adding the following improvements:
Hope this helps!
Hi @aleph ! I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the essential Shopify loyalty program app.
Congratulations on launching Aleph and your first product! It’s always exciting to start a new venture, and I’d be happy to provide some constructive feedback on your website and product presentation:
1. Overall feedback on website's design
- The story of Aleph is compelling and adds depth to your brand. However, it’s not immediately clear on the homepage or product page. Let's try adding a brief version of your brand story (e.g., "Celebrating Middle Eastern culture through modern fashion") prominently on the homepage to create an emotional connection with visitors.
- Add customer reviews or testimonials to your homepage as soon as possible. Since you mentioned that people love the hoodie in person, consider asking for feedback from early customers and displaying it prominently. Include shipping, return, and refund policies within your product page to build trust with potential buyers.
2. Product feedback
- The images are clean but could be more dynamic. Consider adding:
+) Close-up shots of the fabric texture (inside and out).
+) Lifestyle images showing the hoodie in different settings.
- The fabric sounds like a major selling point. Emphasize this more in your marketing. Use phrases like "luxuriously soft," "premium heavyweight fabric," and "unmatched comfort." For additional promotion and enhance customer's willingness to purchase, creating a short video or infographic that explains the unique fabric process. This could help customers understand why your hoodie is worth the investment.
3. Improving site navigation
Since there’s only one product, the navigation feels a bit empty. Consider adding pages like:
- Process: Explain the special fabric process and why it matters.
- FAQ: Address common questions about sizing, shipping, and care instructions.
- Contact: Make it easy for customers to reach out with questions.
4. Suggestions for Growth
- Expand Your Product Line: While starting with one product is a great way to focus, consider adding complementary items (e.g., t-shirts, sweatpants) to give customers more options and increase average order value.
- Social Proof: Leverage social media to showcase your hoodie in action. Encourage customers to share photos wearing it and tag your brand. This builds credibility and creates a sense of community.
- Build customer base with loyalty program: Since apparel is a category with high tendency for repeated purchases, try to convert those one-time buyers into your loyal one by rewarding them for their purchases and engagement with your brand. Building a loyalty program is not too time-consuming and can be done within few clicks if you pick the right one, I recommend checking out BON Loyalty, a user-friendly, powerful, all-in-one loyalty solution designed specifically for Shopify stores.
By refining the product presentation, adding more engaging content, and building your brand story, you’ll be well on your way to converting visitors into loyal customers. Keep iterating based on feedback, and don’t be afraid to experiment with new ideas. Best of luck with your venture!
Cheers,
Tracy
