NEED HELP! I have a Christian Store selling apparel. www.crossovertees.com , I have re-designed, and had an audit done. I have gotten thousands of visitors to my website, but only 1 sale from a non acquaintance. I do not understand what is wrong that is causing people to not buy. I advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and I do email Marketing. I have a LOT of email subscribers, but no one buys. I need advice and help with figuring out what is scaring people off, if anything. Thanks.

0.09% is a very low conversion rate many factors can affect this
Use analytics tools like Clarity to see where people are leaving your store and watch user activity in real-time

But here is some general advice for your store:

  1. Your main section is not clear or persuasive.
  2. Your banner has too much text. Simplify it  just one  'Free Shipping on orders $70 or more!'.
  3. The copy is weak and not persuasive.
  4. There is no clear call to action.
  5. Remove politics from your store; you need to appeal to everyone.
  6. Improve the quality of your t-shirt images.
  7. Add some social proof

That's not political, Its biblical. That is what my business is about is the bible. If I get rid of that then I'm Getting away from my roots and foundation which is Christ Jesus. I will not do that.

Also I am not trying to appeal to everyone. If you look at my business and website you will see that I cater to a specific genre and group of people. Yes I am also trying to reach non Christians, but only by spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

Hi @crossovertees,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is MooseDesk - Customer Support Helpdesk/FAQ App

Congrats on your store! Your store looks stunning. I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. However, I have some comments to make the good get even better. Here are some of my recommendations for better customer experience, please kindly check.

1. Hero Banner Enhancement

1.1. Content Focus:

The hero banner should effectively communicate your products and unique selling points to attract and retain customers on your site. Currently, the focus is on sales promotions and product availability announcements, which should be separated into distinct sections.

1.2. Interactive Elements:

Including a button in the hero banner can guide users to explore different sections of your website. Relying solely on clickable images might confuse some users who are not aware they can click to navigate.

1.3. Banner Management:

If you have multiple banners, consider using a slider to allow users to manually navigate through them. This ensures they can see all banners without waiting for automatic transitions.

You can follow this example. In this example, the banner instantly communicates that they are a platform for hiring tutors. The hero banner image and content create a friendly atmosphere, making users more likely to stay on the site and explore further through CTA buttons.

2. About Us Section Update:

2.1. Renaming and Content:

Rename the "Our Mission" section to "About Us" and include brief but impactful information about your store and vision. This will build credibility and trust, encouraging users to consider purchasing from you. Renaming the section will provide users with an overview of your store. The name 'Our Mission' may only convey a small part of your store's identity and might not be persuasive enough.

2.2. Dedicated Page:

Create a dedicated "About Us" page and link to it from the homepage. This can increase user engagement and reduce bounce rates by encouraging visitors to spend more time on your site.

3. Product Benefits Section:

3.1. Highlighting Benefits:

Introduce a "Product Benefits" section to clearly outline the advantages of buying from your store. This will draw attention and differentiate you from competitors. You can use this section and come up with 1-2 benefits when buying from your store.

3.2. Content Presentation:

Ensure the content is short and concise. Long paragraphs can be distracting, so breaking down information into bullet points or brief sections can be more effective.

4. Most Popular Section:

4.1. Consistency in Display:

To maintain a consistent look, expand the "Most Popular" section to display more products, similar to the "New" section. This uniformity can enhance the visual appeal of your homepage.

This is the section I mention:

5. Product Page Layout:

5.1. Structured Descriptions:

Divide product descriptions into clearly defined sections. This helps customers absorb all the information without feeling overwhelmed by long blocks of text, improving their overall shopping experience.

Here is an example for you:

6. FAQ page and Contact us page

Including a FAQ and a Contact Us page on your website enhances user experience and builds trust. A FAQ page provides quick answers to common questions, saving users time. A Contact Us page offers an easy way for customers to reach out with specific inquiries, demonstrating your commitment to customer service.

To address this, I recommend using MooseDesk, an app for creating unique FAQ pages for your customers. Besides helping you creating your FAQ and Contact us page, we also provide a helpdesk/ticketing system for your customer support.

Here are some of our templates:

Hi @crossovertees I'm Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. Generally, I love your store’s design, it looks classic but professional. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

1. Homepage

  • Have a sticky header

If your website visitors are looking for a particular product while browsing, what's the usual action they would take? They might have to scroll all the way up to the page's top to find the search bar, which can be a bit of an inconvenience. However, this issue can be addressed by introducing a sticky header, significantly improving the ease of navigation for your customers

  • Change a hero banner at the top of the homepage

The banner is very significant in hero material. It is the first thing customers see when they visit your website. You should use the banner which lets consumers to know exactly what you're having in 5 seconds first.

Unfortunately, your current banner does not show exactly what you are selling. That’s why I would suggest you change it.

  • Add CTA button to hero banner

A crucial element for an online store's homepage is the primary call-to-action button. This button serves as a direct link to the specific page where you want customers to take action, such as a collection or product page.

PageFlyGarcia_2-1716450017798.png

It’s such a loss when you missed a “Shop now” button on your banner. A CTA button here will urge visitors to make the purchase and it is a great way to optimize your home page.

And kindly rest assured that all CTA buttons should have the same styling to boost the conversion rate.

  • Check contrast ratio

Some texts do not have a good contrast with their background image so I think you should recheck this part.

You can consider adding a overlay to the background image so the texts are more readable.

  • Recheck image quality

You should recheck this as the image seems to be a little bit broken on live view.

2. Product page

  • Remove breadcrumbs on

When a customer lands on a product page, they’re curious about that SINGULAR product. So, our goal is to keep the customer on the page long enough to complete a purchase, not to redirect them to your other products.

PageFlyGarcia_5-1716450008282.png

The less distracting links on your product detail pages, the better.

  • Move the size guide close to the size variant

This would be more convenient for your users when they want to choose a suitable size and make a purchase. The current position makes it easily overlooked and it’s not logical at all.

  • Make the block of product media sticky to when scrolling to view the description on the right to avoid huge white space like this:

About marketing campaigns, you can ask yourself some questions below to find out what’s right and wrong:

  • Email Marketing:
  • Segmentation: Are you sending the same email blasts to everyone? Segment your list based on interests for more relevant messaging.
  • Offer & Call to Action: Are you giving your email subscribers a reason to buy? Include exclusive discounts, early access to new products, or free shipping offers. Make sure your emails have clear "Shop Now" or "Add to Cart" CTAs.
  • Content: Is your email content engaging? Consider including inspirational stories, customer testimonials, or styling tips alongside product promotions.
  • Facebook/Instagram Ads:
  • Target Audience: Double-check your ad targeting to ensure you're reaching the right demographic (age, location, interests) who are interested in Christian apparel.
  • Ad Creative: Are your ads visually appealing and stopping people mid-scroll? Test different images, messaging, and formats to see what resonates best.
  • Brand Trust:
  • About Us: Does your website have a clear "About Us" section that tells your story and highlights your brand values? This can build trust and connection with potential customers.
  • Social Proof: Showcase customer testimonials, reviews, and social media engagement on your website and in email marketing. Seeing positive experiences from others can encourage conversions.

And that's my feedback! Hope it helps you boost the conversion rate.

Cheers!
