I am reaching out to seek insights and expertise regarding an issue we've been experiencing with our online store, MaternityDresses.com. Despite consistent efforts over the past three months, we are facing a persistent challenge with our conversion rate.

Quick Stats:

  • Time Frame: Last 7 days
  • Total Sessions: 2,421
  • Conversions: 4
  • Conversion Rate: 0.17%

We've employed various strategies to understand and solve this, including optimizing our product pages, adjusting pricing, implementing marketing strategies, and enhancing user experience, but the conversion rate remains poor.

Hi @SERPs,

This is MooseDesk - All-in-one solution for ecommerce customer service app. We are also passionate about improving UX and customer success.

First of all, congratulation on your store. It looks really good. However, I believe there are some UX recommendations you can focus on to increase the conversion rate.

The point of this comment is to identify the experience hole and tackle them to make the buying decision actually take place.

1. Cart Icon does not update

MooseDesk_0-1698123638207.png

I've tried to add some products into the cart but it does not show any number to represent them.

Knowing that the cart acts as some reminding factor that tells visitors they "have "liked" some product, let's check out", therefore, we really need this to get fixed.

2. Sales-content section in each product page

When potential customers go to product page and want to know more about the product, a short description like what we currently have right now cannot satisfy them.

I believe a sales-focused content section right under the main product section will do the trick. You can write something like: "Tired of finding a dress that can hold all your gorgeous curve ..." with customer pain points act as the topic you write about and how the product can tackle all the pain points.

3. Track your customer behavior

When your site acquires good traffic but there is no little or conversion, I suppose you need a tracking software/app/program to really understand what prevent potential customers from actually buying.

Some apps I would suggest is:

- MixPanel

- Clarity

- MouseFlow

- HotJar

I heard that Clarity is offering for free (for awhile) you might want to catch the deal

4. Support

MooseDesk_0-1698132670209.png

One thing you should pay extra attention is support system. There are some recommendations I have for you:

- You should include your branded avatar in the customer support chat so the customers don't have to feel like they are talking to a bot/machine

- According to my testing, you haven't have a predefined template/auto reply yet when customers hit the support chat. You should include this even when you dont present at the moment. Some simple message like "We've got your message, since we support from 4-6PM, let's we handle the ticket offline and reply you real soon" <<< The point is letting your customers know your operation hour and making sure they got the ticket.

- Setting a pop up chat that triggers whenever a customer scroll through your website for 5 seconds is also a way to catch them.

Shopping alone is not a good experience especially when you are doing it online so you might want to change all of these. MooseDesk is a FREE customer service app/ticketing system that could help you do all the things I have suggested above.

If you want to give MooseDesk a try, feel free to do it and hit our 24/7 support so we can help you enhance UX experience.

Hi there

You might want to look at your mobile site too. I ran it through Google Pagespeed insights https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-maternitydresses-com/ntntwb9fty?form_factor=mobile and got a low score (fail)

According to Statista's Market Insights, mobile ecommerce sales make up 60 percent of all e-commerce sales around the world, so it's vital to get this right.

Hope this helps

Hi @SERPs ,

This is Kate from PageFly, - Shopify Landing Page Builder App.

Your website is beautifully designed and elegant. It's clear that you've put a lot of thought and effort into creating a great online presence.

From my experience, I noticed a few things that could be improved on your website.

1. Make the banner full width

A full-width banner grabs the viewer's attention and ensures that your message or content is prominently displayed. It eliminates the white space on the sides, making it more noticeable.

2. Highlight the product price

Increase its visibility by using a large font size (similar in size to the product headline), bold text style, or eye-catching color.

3. Add “Add to cart" button to each product

An add-to-cart button is especially effective for visually-driven products that require little information to be bought. In these cases, an add-to-cart button allows people to quickly grab and checkout without being directed to many pages.

4. Add more product reviews

Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. So you should add more reviews, maybe include the real images, Image reviews allow users to provide feedback using visuals, which can be more detailed and precise than text-based reviews.

Important: please don't forget to add product reviews section to your product pages.

5. Get ready for holiday season

As the holiday season approaches, and with many businesses already gearing up for festivities like Black Friday Cyber Monday (BFCM) and Halloween, your products align seamlessly with this festive period. I strongly encourage you to implement these suggestions to maximize your success during these celebrations:

  • Festive website design: Update your website with a festive theme that reflects the holiday spirit. Add seasonal graphics, banners, and colors to create an inviting and celebratory atmosphere for visitors.
  • Holiday specials and offers: Ofer exclusive holiday promotions, discounts, or special deals to entice customers. Highlight these offers prominently on your website to catch the attention of potential buyers. Here is an example for you from our template:

That’s all of my feedback. Hope it helps to increase your conversion rate.
