Feed back / Constructive Criticism

Hello everybody!  Hoping you can all help me out.  I confess I don't really understand all of this online stuff and need some help.  I'd be very appreciative of any feedback or constructive criticism on any aspect of my website;  www.grillie.com  or  grillie.myshopify.com

How's the overall look / feel?  Are there better themes for my product?  What's missing?  What needs to be added?  I'd also like to know what if any other apps or integrations you think would help me and why.  You get the idea......

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey Rick (@rickg),

First off, my sincere condolences on loosing your stepfather Ron. I love that you included his story on the website and it's really cool to see the hurdles you have already overcome. I'm sure that he would be very happy and proud to see that you've carried it on and included him in the journey.

After I read your page on Ron, I took a look around your website and I have a few suggestions.

On your dealer opportunities page, I saw some photos selling in person. Although this is likely not possible right now, I would recommend looking at utilizing Shopify's Point of Sale so you can accept payments when you do markets or trade shows again.

I'd also recommend including a business card with your website address with each offline order. An incentive like "5% off when you order through our website" or something of that nature will not only encourage purchases but it tells people you have a website and encourages them to use it.

Another thing I'd recommend is approaching local stores - perhaps local fishing stores, pet stores, mechanics, car lots and asking if they would be interested in carrying some of your products.

In addition to this, I'd also recommend posting on local community buy & sells on Facebook. You can incentivize sales by offering free local, contactless (they pay online) delivery within a certain number of kilometers.

My next recommendation is to spend some time tweaking your SEO. I can see there has been some thought and effort put in which is great!

I'd recommend tweaking the keywords a little. We did a whole video on this, I'll leave it here for you to watch:

Hello @rickg, I hope you are doing good! here are some suggestions:

- Display the collection list on the home page.

The first fold of the website should always have a call to action in it -and here’s why; in most cases placing the CTA above the fold works wonders for your campaigns. This placement immediately draws your visitors’ attention to your CTA which is always good for conversions.

Setup Product recommendations on product pages as well as cart pages.

- Make sure to enable automatic workflow emails/push for abandoned cart, win back old customers, welcome email, purchase follow-up, or browse abandoned customers.

- Also, you need to work on the layout and design of the store. Make it look more professional to make people purchase from you.

If you would like to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store. I would recommend you to try out the all in one Shopify app AiTrillion. I am sure you will find it useful.

Hope this Helps!

Dear @rickg ,

My name is Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly Free Page Builder. I have spent time to look at your store and leave some constructive comments.

I really appreciate that the store is clear enough for customer to understand and scan through, and the store's theme quite fits with the products that you are selling.
However, I believe things I mention bellow will help you to positively affect your sale volume. Hope that will give you some useful ideas.

1. You should make product categories the first level of the Main Navigation rather than putting them all on a catalog. Showing categories on Main Navigation will allow your customers find products that fit their needs more effectively, and provide them an over view of your product categories right at the first glance when they enter your page.

2. You should consider to add on slideshow a CTA button and promotional texts, link the button to a promotional page or the product you want to boost sales, instead of just showing product images.

3. Please use hight quality product images in more appropriate size. More real images are highly appriciated to persuade your customers complete their purchase, especially when product price is higher than $50.

4.  Reduce blank space  and leverage every areas on your site, by reducing right/left margin, add more elements, etc.

5. To make your website more professional, please consider other features like:

  • Live chat section for instant help
  • Previous customers' feedbacks
  • etc.

I hope these recommendations will help.
