Feedback on my new store before launch

I have been working on this for a few months now, down to designs, site and all. I believe I am ready to put it out there to the public, but I'm also very hesitant, feeling as if its not quite up to standards or i've not covered all aspects. All general doubts as a newbie..

Aswell as a site review, please feel free to give feedback on my products and services, so I can review an act accordingly before I launch it officially.

Hope you are doing good. Your store looks nice and here are few suggestions.

  • Make a sticky header sticky for easy navigation. It helps customer to access menu at any time they want.
  • Add announcement bar for discounts/free shipping, on top of the header section.
  • Add testimonials/Reviews on the homepage.
  • Include blog page, Blog posting will allow you to show your followers a personal side of your business. In this way you can engage with Existing and New customers.
  • Add review option on the product, so that customer can write a review on the product they purchase from your store.
  • You can also sell your products on Etsy marketplace as it is very good platform to sell unique, handmade and Vintage goods . If you are already selling on Etsy store consider our Etsy Integration app in the shopify app store. Etsy is a Huge marketplace for selling creative goods such as art & collectibles, crafts & supplies, jewellery &accessories and more,  if you have any unique/handmade/vintage goods in your store, you can give further exposure to your products.

Thanks for reaching out, I would be happy to provide you with some feedback on your shop. Thank you for sharing your link, I really enjoyed checking out your store today. I love your color scheme and menu set-up and you have some really wonderful artwork and products available. The first thing I noticed was your logo was a bit small/blurry:


I understand (and like) that you have the animated logo below, however, this logo in your header may need to be re-uploaded. I would recommend checking out our Uploading Images guide to ensure you are uploading your images as per the requirements in our guide. If you are using a third-party theme for your shop, you may want to reach out to the developers of your theme directly as they may have different image requirements for their product. 

Similarly, I would consider making these product/collection option images larger:


I like that you have included your currency selector and social media links in your side menu, but you may want to re-think this as it might be hard for your customers to find when initially visiting your shop. You may want to move your currency selector to the footer of your shop, where your other social media icons are currently:

As already suggested, I would also agree to add an Announcement bar/banner to the header of your shop. I'm not sure if this is one that you currently have?


If not, you could add a banner to highlight the following information:

  • any shipping delays or regions not accepting international shipments
  • any updated or new policy pages
  • any promotions being offered at this time, such as new gift cards

Your theme may have this feature built-in directly, I recommend referencing our announcement banner guide here for more information if you are curious about this. If you are using a third-party theme or simply do not have this feature built into your theme, you could always use a third-party application, for example:

- Bannerfly

First off, your store looks great! Keep up the good work. One thing I noticed was that the animation gets cut off on the front page, make sure all of it displays. I would also consider putting some prices on the featured page. 

 

Another great way to improve your store is to collect feedback from your customers. Although advice from the forums is good, asking the people that buy from you is even better!  InSite allows you to add a widget to your website that allows your customers to give feedback straight to you. This helps you convert more traffic and secure repeat customers.

A sticky navigation bar will help customers navigate themselves from every part of the homepage to any page of your store more conveniently.

1.2. Add a section to introduce your store on the Home page

I highly recommend you should add a section to introduce your store to customers. I notice that you have a My Story page so you should take the content from that page and add an image.

1.3. Make the Call-To-Action button more striking:

A CTA plays a vital role in encouraging people to buy your products. It's highly recommended that you should use another color for all the buttons. Or else, you can use an outstanding border for your button.

1.4. Add testimonials:

Testimonial is a powerful section that builds customers' trust and encourages them to make a purchase. Therefore, it's highly recommended that you should include this on your homepage and product page.

Hi @ArtByToyanne, after taking a look at your store, here are some of my suggestions:

  • I guess you will buy your own domain before making it live.
  • Change the color of your price to make them look easier.
  • Recommend changing the background of your "pre-order" or "add to cart button" to draw attention to it. Example like image below

  • Your live chat icon cover "Checkout" button in drawer cart on mobile device. Your Checkout button does not have background also.

Hey @ArtByToyanne , Overall I felt that the website is very clean and neat. However, I have a few points that you can incorporate to help you grab users' attention:
1. Have an organised navigator bar at the top to allow easy navigation by the customers when browsing on your website

2. Add realistic images along with easy descriptions of your products - I like how you have the zoom in/out feature on your product but make sure you add real user images too.

3. Keep the home (main) landing page clean and try not to keep product displays there as it gets confusing and looks unorgnised.
4. I saw product reviews and trust badges missing from your store -  It is for a known fact that we rely on other people’s opinions or actions to decide on our own thus very important to add such badges. You can read more about trust badges here.
5. Holiday season is here and hence a lot of online shopping has started - adding more graphic product labels/stickers like Sale, Fast Selling, Free Shipping, new arrival, christmas, sale - this will help increase your sales by tapping into powerful psychological triggers such as scarcity, urgency etc. Read more here.

Hello @Waytoapps , thank you so much for the honest review on my store and improvement options, that I will most definitely take in to consideration and adjust. I did try add the review on my product page but may not have done so properly...

Couple things I have considered already like the testimonials and Etsy account but thought I should see how the traffic on the site goes after its launched officially before then branching out and allowing feedbacks to be previewed among the homepage.

Your feedback is most helpful, I will need to look into the animation, i believe my theme doesn't support the idea very well. Also agreed on the feedback front, that is in the works, but just haven't launched the store as of it, just wanted to make sure all my bases were covered before going live.

So will definitely look into the widget.

Also the product displays, as in the slideshow maybe isa bit too much?

Yes absolutley agree on the review front. Had a few people mention that aspect which is in the works. and I 100% want customer feedback to be seen and encouraged.
