Hi everyone, 

I would love some feedback from you as I am a bit stuck with the collections and the niche of my website. I feel there are too many collections and products? I think I should be more clear on what specialises in, which is an indoors Japanese style experience.

Before I get into my feedback, I wanted to let you know that we are giving away prizes every week leading up to Christmas. Now, onto my feedback..

Good call on having too many collections/products, your inclination is correct!

It is going to make advertising an absolute headache. Say you run ads on your Kimono's and you have an influx of traffic of people who are looking to purchase a Kimono. When they land, they are expecting to see a variety of Kimono's and other clothing items that would appeal to them and instead you only have two Kimono options and a variety of unrelated products.


We see it a LOT on these forums, people get 1000 visitors a day and no conversions. This kind of traffic eats up your ad budget and leaves you without any conversions. As aside, I would change your product page. The images are quite small and the list style look more like something you would see on a checkout as opposed to a product page.

I would definitely recommend niching down. Find out what is currently trending within Japanese products and focus on selling that. Make your website, your ads, your social media posts all focused on this niche. It will make your advertising dollars count if you are able to better specify who your target audience is.

My last recommendation is to spend some time on your SEO. By default, Shopify will pull your product titles and descriptions and use that as your SEO (that is what is happening in your case). You don't want to leave your SEO to default, you want to be intentional about the words you use so that you are reaching your intended audience. We walk you through how to do your SEO in this video:

Hello @Japanisme, I hope you are doing good! Here are some suggestions:

- Add policies, social media links in the footer. Add a call to action button on the banner image.

- You can add Instagram Feed on the homepage.

- Add announcement bar/ timers on the homepage.

- Add product recommendations like trending, new, recently viewed on the homepage or you can simply install AiTrillion and enable it as per your choice.

- Make sure to enable automatic workflow emails/push for abandoned cart, win back old customers, welcome email, purchase follow-up, or browse abandoned customers.

- Add web push notifications on your store and it will help you in reaching your customers and visitors directly.

- Add reviews on the product page & the homepage.
