Hello all!
I just recently went live and I want to know what would dissuade you, as a customer, from purchasing from my store. I have been running speed tests and it seems that my store is slow. While I figure out how to improve my store speed, I just wanted to get the store live and I am trying to incentivize customers, by offering a discount, to not be turned off by the slow speeds.
What can I do better? I am not sure about the need for a slider image.
Let me know what you think. Here is the link to my site: steamyplace.com
Also, make a purchase! I will give any of you a discount code.
Hey @WillBRich,
Before I get into my feedback, I wanted to let you know that we are giving away prizes every week leading up to Christmas. Prizes include things like custom logos and favicons, custom store banners, one hour of store tweaks and for one lucky person, we are giving away a complete store re-design. To get your entry in, all you need to do is sign up for our email newsletter. Oh, and we are giving away FREE Christmas store banners and pop up graphics automatically to everyone who signs up.
Now, onto my feedback..
I would recommend a color change. A more neutral color palette would be a better choice.
I'd also recommend having your logo re-done. A custom logo is one of the prizes in our giveaway so make sure to enter. Alternatively, you can get one made on Fiverr very inexpensively.
Your text at the top "Additional $3 off your order until site speed issues are solved; free shipping on all orders" should be removed, it will turn visitors off to hear you are having site issues.
My next recommendation is to spend some time on your SEO. By default, Shopify will pull your product titles and descriptions and use that as your SEO (that is what is happening in your case). You don't want to leave your SEO to default, you want to be intentional about the words you use so that you are reaching your intended audience. A common mistake in SEO is using the wrong words. You have to include words that a person trying to find your product would search in Google. We created a video walking you through how to do your SEO:
I haven't researched the products you are selling but if you make the suggested changes and aren't seeing sales, it may be an issue with the products you've chosen. A good product choice should have these qualities:
I have a lot more to say on this topic, but I cover it in our video so I'll leave it here for you to watch:
We hope our response was helpful, if it was, let us know by giving us a thumbs up and/or marking it as a solution!
Best of luck!
Dear WillBRich,
Congratulations for your store!
Hope the following suggestions will help you
Hello @WillBRich, I hope you are doing well! here are is the feedback:
- Your prospect's attention span is short, so you have to be quick on the ball. You have got 3-5 secs to grab the attention of your visitors by clearly stating what you sell. Adding a carousel with your features products can help you to achieve that. Add a call to action button on it. It's important to have a call to action button in the first fold of the homepage.
- Having limited products in the store I would recommend you to add an engaging video about the product.
- Make sure to enable automatic workflow emails/push for abandoned cart, win back old customers, welcome email, purchase follow-up, or browse abandoned customers.
- Add a chatbot- Welcome new visitors, boost your customer engagement, deliver personalized recommendations, and much more. Give customers instant answers 24/7 with the help of the live ChatBot.
- Setup web push notifications on your store and it will help you in reaching your customers and visitors directly.
- Add exit-intent popup. Track when someone is about to leave your website and show the visitor exit-intent popup with attractive offers and coupon code to complete the purchase.
If you would like to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store. I would recommend you to install the all in one Shopify app AiTrillion. I am sure you will find it useful.
Hope this Helps!
Hi @WillBRich !
Add a favicon
Homepage designs guides your visitors around your website. To engage visitors you need to work on homepage layout design. Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided.
90% of people read reviews before purchasing an item. I personally do not read the description too much, I go straight on to the reviews section because that is social proof. In my opinion that is essential for every site. I highly recommend (almost insist) and adding that feature on your site. You can use Growave for that, it offers automated emails within the Reviews feature as well.
Social media has become a huge thing nowadays. I highly recommend taking advantage of that and adding Instagram galleries on your homepage. It will help drive traffic from your site on to your account and vice versa.
When it comes to single-item stores it might be challenging driving traffic and have sales because the market for that product might not be too big. That is why I advise to work in partnership with other companies that sell complementary products or services.
