Getting over 500 visits a day but not a single sale

Good morning,

My current store is getting over 500 visits per day but no sales.  Here is my store link:  https://www.blingandblanket.com

I am using tools like PagePilot, Trusted Site and others to develop my product pages.

Would appreciate feedback.  I have had several people reach out to me offering to "FIX" my site, I even hired a couple of them and NO results.

Also please understand I am an IT Guy (30+ years), I've done SEO for websites and understand the process but I am at a loss here because none of the normal things I know are working.

Thanks in advance!

Dear @mhutsell3 ,

Thank you so much for your query. I recently observed your store, and I’d like to share a few suggestions that could help improve the shopping experience and increase conversions.

  1. Implement a loyalty program – Adding a loyalty program would give customers extra incentives to return and make repeat purchases. Offering rewards such as discounts, points, or exclusive deals can enhance customer retention and boost engagement.
  2. Add a star rating widget to product cards – Displaying product ratings directly on product cards helps build trust and credibility. Customers are more likely to make a purchase when they can see ratings and reviews at a glance.

  3. Add more customer reviews with real images – User-generated content, especially reviews with actual product images, plays a crucial role in building trust. Encouraging customers to upload photos and share their experiences can enhance the store’s authenticity and appeal.
  4. Fix the chatbox overlapping the sticky "Add to Cart" bar on the product page – I noticed that the chatbox currently covers the sticky add-to-cart button, which may make it difficult for users to complete their purchases smoothly. Adjusting the placement or size of the chatbox can improve the overall user experience.

  5. Test the purchasing process as a real customer – I highly recommend placing a test order as a regular customer. This will allow you to experience the entire buying journey firsthand and identify any issues or friction points that could be affecting conversions.

I believe these improvements will help create a more seamless shopping experience and enhance customer trust in your store. Hope that my answer is helpful for you and your store.

Best regards,
Liz.

Hi @mhutsell3,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

First, your store looks stunning and truly impressive, and I can see the dedication you've poured into its creation. However, if you want to improve your UX & conversion rate, please check my recommendations below.

1. Homepage

  • First Impressions: The homepage could benefit from a more compelling value proposition. Right now, the message isn’t clear enough about why customers should choose Bling & Blanket. You might want to add a catchy headline that explains the brand's unique selling points and what sets your products apart.
  • Hero Image: The main banner image is good, but consider making it more engaging. It could feature your products in use or include a special offer, like “Free Shipping on Orders Over $50” or something that makes people feel like they’re getting a deal.
  • Navigation: The top menu is simple, but you could consider adding categories like “New Arrivals,” “Best Sellers,” or “Special Offers” for easier navigation. This helps guide users directly to the most popular or on-sale products.
  • Pop-Up Promotions: Use pop-ups to highlight time-sensitive offers like "Fall Home Refresh" or "Spring Makeover," creating urgency and encouraging immediate purchases.
2. Product pages

Product Descriptions: The product descriptions are functional. For example, instead of just describing the material, explain how it feels, why it’s perfect for your customer’s needs, or how it adds value to their life.

  • Tip: Incorporate bullet points for key features and benefits to make it easy to skim.

Additionally, you can include more detailed sections on the product page, such as Description, Details & Sizing, Materials & Care, and Shipping. This will ensure customers have all the information they need to make an informed purchase decision.

3. Add Feedback page/section

You can also add a Feedback Section with genuine reviews, or even create a dedicated page to share customer stories. This is a powerful way to emotionally connect customers with your products. Show real photos or videos from customers—these serve as strong triggers that can influence their purchase decisions.

4. Optimize a live chat support

It’s wonderful that you’re using MooseDesk, dear customer. We hope that MooseDesk will be your trusted companion in enhancing your customer support progress.

By the way, I noticed that the "Chat with us" field seems to be left blank, which could cause some confusion for your customers.

To fix this issue, please follow these steps:

  • Go to the Chat Widget
  • Select the Translation tab
  • Scroll down to Pre-chat Information
  • Then, enter the pretext you want to display in the fields.

Hi there @mhutsell3 , I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.

I get how frustrating it is to have 500+ visitors a day but no sales. Your store looks professional, and I can tell you’ve put a lot of effort into it. Since you already know SEO, let’s focus on the core issue: traffic quality.

1. Who’s visiting your store?
Not all traffic is equal. If the wrong audience is landing on your site, they won’t buy no matter how great it looks. Check:

- Traffic sources (Google Analytics → Acquisition report)
- Bounce rate & time on site (Are people leaving too fast?)
- Top pages visited (Are they engaging with product pages or just browsing?)
If most visitors come from broad keywords, social media clicks, or low-intent traffic, they might not be ready to buy. Running more targeted ads (if applicable) or refining your SEO strategy can help.

2. Improve navigation & first impressions
Right now, the lack of a header + navigation bar makes browsing a bit difficult. First-time visitors need easy access to categories, bestsellers, and contact info. A clean navigation bar at the top would help guide them.

Also, consider adding:
- Real-life product images – Lifestyle shots work better than just product-only photos. Customers want to see how the item looks in use.
- Customer reviews – Even a few testimonials or UGC (user-generated content) can build trust. If you don’t have sales yet, try adding feedback from friends/family who’ve seen or tested the products.

3. Pricing & Checkout experience
Some shoppers browse but don’t buy because of unexpected fees. If possible:

- Be transparent about shipping costs upfront
- Offer a simple checkout process (no forced account creation)
- Provide multiple payment options

4. Next steps
Before thinking about retargeting, let’s fix the traffic issue first. A high number of visitors with low engagement means the targeting might be off. Once traffic is solid, retargeting can help bring people back.

Final thoughts
Your store already looks polished and professional—great job! Converting visitors into buyers always takes testing and tweaking over time. Since you have an IT background, you already have an edge in setting up a solid foundation. Keep refining based on visitor behavior, and you’ll get there! 🚀

Hope this helps! Would love to hear updates once you try a few changes. If you find these suggestions helpful for you, please let me know by giving BON Loyalty a 'LIKE' or marking it as a 'SOLUTION'. 😀

Cheers,

Tracy | BON Loyalty team

Hi @mhutsell3,

I’m from Mageplaza, a Shopify solutions expert. Here are some recommendations to help improve your conversion rate:

Since I haven’t seen your ads, I can’t provide specific feedback on your landing page. However, based on insights from “Databox,” here are some key points to consider:

  • If your click-through rate (CTR) is high but conversions are low, the issue often lies with the landing page—most commonly due to weak or unclear calls-to-action (CTA). A simple yet effective solution is to add a clear CTA, such as a “Buy Now” or “Read More” button. This could be a clickable image with brief text or a straightforward button.

Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be frustrating, especially after putting effort into driving traffic. This indicates that many potential customers are leaving before completing their purchases, which impacts your conversion rate.

To address this, consider re-engaging these shoppers by:

  • Sending Email Reminders: Follow up with customers about their abandoned carts to encourage them to return.
  • Offering Incentives: Discounts or free shipping can serve as motivation to complete their purchase.

For more detailed strategies, you may find the Shopify Help Center useful.

I hope these suggestions help! If you found this information valuable, a “Like” or “marking it as a solution” would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, and best of luck!
