Hello everyone, 

So I’ve being struggling on getting sales on my website. Not sure at this moment what am I doing wrong. Is it my website? 

i have being promoting and sharing content on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Sorry to hear your sales aren't where you had hoped. I've taken a look through your store, hopefully my feedback will provide some insight as to what is going on.

PRODUCTS
As you know, candles can be purchased offline in hundreds retail stores as well as online through thousands and thousands of online stores. When a person is searching for a candle in Google, big companies with massive marketing budgets are who is showing up in search results and who you are competing with for customers.

Now, a person can complete IF they give people a reason to purchase from them vs. the other guys. An example of this might be someone who sells locally, their "reason" as to why you should purchase from them vs the other guy is because they are local and a lot of people are passionate about shopping local. In addition to this, they can also get products to their customers faster and can offer incentives such as free local delivery.

I would think about all your "whys" and what sets you apart and use that in your marketing and in the text in your store.

LOCAL
Your main issue is you need sales so here is what I would do if I was in your position.

I’d start local.

I’d connect with other small handmade businesses in my area and ask if they want to collaborate to put together gift baskets. You’d add one of your products, they might add a handmade card or a piece of jewelry, another person might add a bath bomb, etc. 

I’d post online to local community Facebook pages, marketplace, join any handmade groups, etc. If there are online markets I would join them and definitely in person when they are up and running again.

I’d also approach local gift shops and flower shops to see if they are interested in carrying a selection of your products or collaborating with you.

With everything you do locally, make sure to include a business card with a discount for their next online order. This will create awareness that you have an online shop. Here is how to create a discount code:

If delivery is not an option, or if you want to offer two things, you could offer local pickup as well:

I would highly recommend that you encourage your customers to leave a review on the products they purchase. Positive reviews are very valuable, they add a lot of trust to your store. Here is a video on how to add a free review app to your store:

Another thing you could do for marketing that would help you expand outside the local umbrella is to create videos of you making your products. You could either make them tutorials, teaching others how to make your products, which could potentially lead to a different type of income for you (a course) or you could do a voiceover and talk about something you are passionate about that will resonate with your target audience. This can be tips and tricks, something about you personally or etc.  You can do short 30 second to 1 minute videos for TikTok, IG Reels, Facebook. You can also do longer videos and post them on YouTube or Facebook. As for the platforms, right now I personally suggest TikTok & YouTube. You are going to grow way faster on TikTok right now than you could on IG Reels or Facebook.

It has the potential to be a double fold success for you because not only can you earn on the platforms themselves (ie. with YouTube you can get AdSense, add affiliate links and do brand deals) but also you are driving traffic to your store and selling there as well. A good example of this in action is the Detail Geek. He has a service based vehicle detailing business and creates YouTube videos of himself detailing vehicles. He will mention products he is using and drive traffic to his online store AND he also earns AdSense money by allowing YouTube to place ads in his videos.

SEO
One very important piece of selling is getting the right kind of traffic to your store, your target audience ((high traffic is not a good thing if it is the wrong kind of traffic). Good SEO will help you  reach your intended audience organically. By default, Shopify will pull your product titles and descriptions and use that as your SEO (that is what is happening in your case). You don't want to leave your SEO to default, you want to make sure you include the same words that a person trying to find your product would search in Google. ->Add Testimonials: Testimonials give customers confidence in your product. They can resolve a customer’s primary concerns, make them feel good about contacting you, and solidify their decision to buy your products. Add testimonials in footer of home page.

->Add blog page, Blog initially used to provide a unique way for people to share their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and opinions and It is a huge opportunity to increase your company's visibility.

->Rewards & Credits: Credits helps to increase the orders, and make customers to buy the products with rewards and credits. You can give credits for registration, subscription, Order credits, Cart Value, Item review, Monthly, Birth day, Referral and many more. This will assist you with captivating your customers and hold them. You can compensate your customers to reclaim those focuses. At the point when you will offer focuses to them they will come back again later on to cause a buy to reclaim those focuses. I want to give you some advices on your homepage. You know, homepage is the most important page to drive your customers' attraction in your store. No matter what the demand is, people are more likely to start their journey from a homepage.

 

1. Show of categories on your store

Show collections in your store is a good idea to help visitors have an overview of kinds of product you are selling. If customers pay attention to one collection, they will easily click on it and explore more. This obviously helps your site increase the conversion rate.

2. Add information about candle size

Because customers are shopping online, if they have more information about the product, they will make the purchase decision quicker.

 

Under each product information in product list section, it would be better if you add their height, radius.. Shoppers can easily imagine how big the candle are and know if the item matches their need.

3. Add testimonials/ reviews

People love proof, especially when they visit a store and see many good reviews, they will be willing to shop! So you should add testimonial/product reviews on your store.

4. Add a video

  • Your product has a poor description, must add more information
  • Your product images are low quality, recommend using high-quality images and focusing on the product, your item is too small in your picture
  • Recommend adding a trust badge below "More payment options" on the product page

Hey, I am listing down some of the few areas you should target to get more user engagement, traffic, and conversions:

 

1- Social proof is missing. We rely on other people’s opinions or actions to decide on our own and hence it is essential for you like a lot of other successful stores online. Reviews, testimonials, endorsements, etc are a must-have. 

------>Add review carousel/testimonial/endorsement on the homepage.

------>Add a review section on the product page

 

2- Add product stickers/badges like ‘top seller’, ‘limited stock’, ‘100% natural’, ‘safe checkout’, ‘free shipping’ etc which can help you increase your sales by tapping into powerful psychological triggers such as Trust, scarcity, social proof, and urgency. You can use high-rated apps like ModeMagic to get this done quickly.

 

3- Have an organized navigation bar at the top - Home, Products, About us, Contact us, etc to allow easier navigation. This makes the process more legit and organized.

 

4- Try to use High-Quality images and self-explanatory descriptions in your product pages - This will help users to know about the product a lot better and hence help with conversions.

------>Add realistic product images along with 4-5 shots of the from different angles - this leads to trust and loyalty from the users' end since they trust what you show them.

 

5- Add an "About Us" section - these sections are important as they lead to customer trust and loyalty. It helps users appreciate the values and vision of the business which can be nicely explained in this area of your store

 

6- Make a Sticky header for easy navigation. It helps customers to access the menu at any time they want.

 

7- Have a clear banner image with a “shop now” CTA on the hero section so customers can click on it to navigate to the product/collection page. You can update the current image to a high-quality one.

 

8- ​​A FAQ section would be useful! It will help solve common customer queries quickly.

 

9- Add filters(like size, color, etc) to the collections to help the visitors narrow down their searches. The easier you make the search process be, the better would be the engagement and therefore sales.
