High traffic but no sales or other actions

I've had my store up for a few months and have been posting organically on Pinterest. I get fairly high clicks to my website, but haven't gotten a single sale or even added to cart. I'm wondering if there's anything with my store or products that might be leading to these results.

Hi @DarosuPosters Thank you for reaching out and sharing insights about your Shopify store, Darosu Posters. I understand the challenge you're facing with high click-through rates from Pinterest but no conversions or add-to-cart actions. As a Shopify expert, I’m here to help you identify and address potential issues to improve your store's performance. Here is your Store Review and Recommendations:

1. Storefront and User Experience

  • Ensure your landing page is visually captivating, loads quickly, and effectively communicates your store's unique value proposition. High-quality images of your posters should be prominently displayed.
  • Simplify your website's navigation by categorizing your products clearly. A user-friendly menu can significantly enhance the shopping experience.
  • Each product page should feature detailed descriptions, high-resolution images, and customer reviews if available. Highlight the unique features and benefits of your posters to entice customers.
  • Ensure CTAs like "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" are prominently displayed and stand out on the page.
  • Add trust badges, secure payment icons, and customer reviews to build credibility and trust with your visitors.

2. SEO and Content Strategy

  • Optimize product titles, descriptions, and images with relevant keywords to improve your store's search engine visibility.
  • Create blog posts related to interior design tips, choosing the right poster, and customer stories. This drives traffic and engages and builds trust with your audience.

3. Marketing and Promotion

  • Continue leveraging Pinterest but incorporate strong CTAs in your pins. Use high-quality, eye-catching images and keyword-rich descriptions to drive traffic.
  • Capture emails with a pop-up offering a discount on the first purchase. Use targeted email campaigns to nurture leads and convert them into customers.

How discounting can help?

The Coupon Discount on Cart app play a crucial role in converting your high traffic into actual sales. Displaying available discounts directly on the cart page can motivate visitors to proceed with their purchases. Seeing potential savings encourages customers to add items to their cart and complete the checkout process. The app showcases potential savings, prompting visitors to explore more products and take advantage of the discounts. This can increase the average order value.

Transparently displaying discounts on the cart page builds trust, assuring customers they are getting the best deal without the hassle of searching for coupon codes. Highlighting discounts at the crucial moment before checkout can significantly reduce cart abandonment rates, leading to more completed purchases.

By improving your store’s user experience and optimizing your marketing strategies, you can convert high clicks into meaningful sales. If you need further assistance or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to help you achieve your business goals.

Best regards,

Ina

Hi @DarosuPosters,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is MooseDesk - All-in-one Customer Support and Helpdesk Solution for your Start-up

Congratulations on your new store! I can see it is well-designed and has quite enough essential details. However, if you are having a problem with driving conversion, here are a few of my recommendations:

1. Optimize the hero section

I can see that you’ve added a clear CTA button. However, consider adding the heading content to better impress your visitors.

It should be your brand’s slogan or key message that highlights your unique selling proposition. Try to come up with a short yet impressive slogan to make sure customers will remember your brand.darosu.png

2. Offer promotion

To increase the chance of converting visitors to real buyers, you can offer them many promotional programs. This could be a limited-time offer, a limited quantity of an item, or a free gift with purchase, etc.

There are several ways to put these deals on your online store. I suggest the most 2 common:

  • Add a pop-up banner

  • Put a discount bar at the top of the website

3. Add a second image on hover

The image can be a different angle, a close-up of details or showing the model wearing it. These can give visitors a more comprehensive view of the product without cluttering the initial product listing. Here’s an example:

4. Add a Live chat widget

During a live chat, you can answer questions, address concerns, and even offer personalized recommendations. This can lead to customers adding more items to their cart and spending more overall.

I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free support, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

Hey @DarosuPosters,
I see you're getting lots of clicks on Pinterest but not seeing the sales roll in. Let's tackle this together! Here’s how you can tweak your site to turn those clicks into cash:
1. Homepage Charm:

  • Your hero section needs a punchy headline that screams why your posters are a must-have. Think of it as your billboard moment!
    Screenshot 2024-07-11 at 6.11.25 PM.png
  • Make your Home page a little more structured. Follow this outline - Banner, Most popular products (have at least 4-6 in one view), Categories, some real-world display of your posters

2. Product Pages Pop:

  • Add more product images. And make the experience of viewing the images seamless. right now I have to click on each image and it opens in full size. That's not a nice experience.
  • I also think you have very few products right now, Please add more options!

3. Trust is Key:

  • Show off those trust badges and secure payment icons. It's like putting up a neon sign that says, "Shop here with confidence!"
  • Also add real-looking images as much as possible on the bottom of your product pages.

4. Excite with Deals:

  • Offer free shipping over a minimum cart value. Bundle 3 posters together and offer 5-10% discount. Frankly, I think people may find it difficult to pay $6 shipping over a $14 poster, but may be interested in buying 3 posters and save on shipping. Win - Win

Are you sure you are targeting the rightful audience for your store?

Hi @DarosuPosters
Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm from BON: Loyalty Rewards Referrals.

I have reviewed your store and have some ideas as to why your store is receiving organic trafficbut not converting. Previous comments have already discussed the design of your store and provided numerous tips for your reference. Below, I will focus on technical aspects, specifically digital marketing, to help you.

1/ Click Fraud
The first reason you might have high traffic but low conversions could be due to click fraud. These are clicks not made by genuine users looking for your products but are intended to increase traffic without resulting in sales.

Click fraud can come from:
- Click Farms: Individuals or groups hired to click on ads or websites.
- Low-Value Clicks: Someone clicks on an ad twice in a row, accidental clicks without value, or manual clicks intended to increase advertising costs.
In this case, you should use tools to block fraudulent clicks using Google's IP exclusion feature. Additionally, if you don't have the time or continue to experience click fraud, using click fraud prevention tools will be a viable solution for you.

2/ Targeting the Wrong Audience
This is considered the most common reason businesses face high traffic but low conversion rates. After investing in building your brand and boosting your website's SEO to rank on the first page of Google search results, users will naturally visit your site. However, if you target the wrong audience, they will only visit without intending to purchase because your products do not meet their needs.

To avoid targeting the wrong audience, you must first thoroughly research your target customers based on factors such as demographics, psychographics, behaviors, needs, and preferences. Then, segment them into different groups with common characteristics to more accurately target your ads and avoid wasting your budget.

You can use tools like Google Analytics to track customer behavior.

Solutions for High Traffic but Poor Conversion

1/ Analyze Traffic
Analyze traffic to measure the volume of visitors, user behavior, geographical locations, and other metrics. Observing rankings and identifying Google search trends will help businesses develop strategies that align with customer needs.

Many tools can help you analyze traffic, but Google Analytics is the most accurate. Use Google Analytics regularly to monitor and adjust your marketing strategies. This will help you not only increase traffic but also improve conversion rates.

2/ Focus on SEO to Increase Traffic with High Conversion Rates
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the process of optimizing a website to compete for keyword rankings on search engine results pages, thereby increasing both website traffic and the quality of that traffic.

All businesses today aim for an SEO-friendly website because it brings numerous benefits, including increasing traffic with higher conversion rates.

These are some reasons why your website might have high traffic but low conversion rates. Hopefully, this information helps you identify weaknesses in your website and address them to improve your conversion rates.

Thank you, and best of luck with your store!
