How can I improve my new ecommerce store?

Hi @jaythe69 ,


I love the blender it is so handy for travel.


Following are some of the points I noticed.

  • Design
    • Try adding two colours to the website so that you can use one colour as your primary brand colour and the second one as the secondary colour to complement. You can choose one colour for elements like Menu, Buttons and so on and the other one for the logo and the rest of the branding.
    • It will look much nicer if you can reduce the empty spaces on the home page by adding more photos and so on. As it is a single-product store for now you don't need to worry too much about making the website long instead my suggestion will be to focus on the first two rows of content and make them well-positioned.
    • I would also suggest making subtitles shorter, something like this "Next generation of mutifunction portable blender, perfect shake every single time."
  • SEO
    • I would also suggest using Title and Meta Description for the pages with the relevant keywords so that you can optimise for SEO and organic traffic.

1. Add a favicon logo to your store

As I can see, your website currently lacks a favicon logo. This is the small logo that typically appears in a browser tab, and I've highlighted it in the screenshot below. Favicon logos can improve the user experience by making it easier for visitors to identify your site when they have multiple tabs open in their browser. It also makes bookmarking and navigating to your site more intuitive. 


2. Use Bespoke image & add content to the hero banner of homepage

Your current hero banner in homepage may cause visitors confusing feelings when they first land on your site, due to those reasons:

  • Lack of bespoke image of what products you are selling
  • Lack of heading & subheading text describe your brands and your core products.

Invest more on the hero image and content to attract visitors at the first glance & add a level of professionalism. 


3. Have Direct Links to “Return Policy” and “Shipping Info” in the Footer

These two parts are essential to your business in the long term because providing clear return and shipping information will help your brand build trust with your customers. It shows that you are transparent and committed to their satisfaction.You should add them with direct links in the Footer to make them easily accessible.

Shoppers often visit e-commerce websites with the primary intent of finding and comparing prices. So consider adding compare-at-price information as you are running a Christmas holiday promotion. Also, you should set it bold or use another color to make the price information easy to find. It will meet shoppers' expectations and help them make informed decisions quickly.

5. Make use of testimonial / social proof

I understand your store is new, but just a friendly-reminder, don't forget reviews are essential to the shopping experience. You should add a testimonial section to build trust for your products' quality. If there are not enough rating stars, consider using text & images to showcase feedback of your first orders. 




6. Add more Holiday Season elements 

As I can see you are promoting the Christmas sale, it would be better to add more Christmas elements to make your store stunning & high-converting.

  • Countdown timers: Use countdown timers for limited-time offers or flash sales to create a sense of urgency and drive conversion



  • Holiday gift wrapping option: Offer a gift-wrapping service during checkout to make it convenient for customers who are purchasing gifts for others.

  •  Make sure your brand has a favicon, which is a visual icon that helps customers to find  you  when they have multiple tabs open. It represents your brand visually and helps boost your online branding as well as trust from potential consumers
  • A properly designed and built hero banner can help drive the right kind of customers on your website. Consider a strong message that represents what next step you want your site visitor to do based on their needs along with the CTA button on the banner.
  • Growing your business with a business blog is a great way to market your site. Now that you have some traffic coming to your site through your blog, you have an opportunity to convert that website traffic into leads.
  • Expand your social media promotions and attach those social links to the icons on footer menu. Make sure that social links open on new tab
  • Update contact us page with adding more details, as it builds trust on your store.
  • You can also sell your products on Etsy marketplace as it is very good platform to sell unique, handmade and Vintage goods . If you are already selling on Etsy store consider our Etsy Integration app in the shopify app store which provides seamless integration between Shopify-Etsy shop.
