How can I improve my new online store on Shopify?

Hi I am new to Shopify 

I have been busy trying to add items to the plan I have which is the standard online store where I can hopefully sell on social media. I just need some professional shopifiers to take a look at the store and give me some feedback ?

1. Regarding to the chat support, I see your concern, especially with personalized items where communication is crucial. You can try to add contact form (built-in feature in Shopify) or app Shopify inbox (it is a Shopify app too and it is totally free)...
2. About the collections, you can archive that by page builder app, most of them have free plan such as PageFly, Gempages, ...

  • There's an issue with color variants not updating the image when selected; review your settings. Additionally, consider using color swatches to display variants more effectively.

  • The product description seems a bit lengthy; you can optimize it by using images or implementing a dropdown element. Also, consider adding a pop-up size guide near the size selection for convenience.
  • I suggest adding a service such as chat support or providing contact information for users seeking assistance. Providing sufficient information for users to overcome any purchasing barriers will benefit your store greatly.

I will check those out

regarding collections I can not get them because I am only on a standard plan 

the chat would be good but not sure how I do that as alot of my items are personalised where we need to chat 

could you suggest how I do this ? Again I am only on a standard plan so probs can not achieve this

Sticky header is recommended, as it makes it easy for the user to directly jump to the menu at any point of time while they are navigating through the Site. Other significant observations for store optimization are as follows:

 

  1. The default search landing page is a bit off, I mean it's empty. You can show products on that page as well by simply updating the default search on the website with different search solutions.
  2. Put "Secured and trusted checkout with" in your footer.
  3. Taking someone to the cart is a challenge. So to make them buy from your site, add a longer product description as it leads to better SEO ranking in Google search. Ref article from Shopify
  4. Add a Contact Us page, add email address, phone number, and contact form for the visitors.
  5. You can add social media links, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram on the site footer.
  6. Finally, I would also recommend you to try Sparq product filters and search to replace the default search on your store, this app allows advanced custom tag product filters for collection pages, synonyms, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with the search are high-intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users. Check out the features live here.
