How can I improve the design and functionality of my online store?

Hi,

I opened up my store three weeks ago: think88.com.au

I am constantly changing the design of the website and trying to make it organised and user friendly, I am thinking what can bring value to my customer.

I have had a few sales but not consistent, lots of traffic, I thought I had an aesthetic design, but now I just don't know.

I am open up for all suggestions please, I am aware I need to put reviews up. From design to anything else, please let me know how I can improve my store.

Thank you

Hi @Candice23 ,

I have reviewed on your store looking more attractive and found there are quite a few things which if added can increase sales and user friendly.
1. In mobile view your Home Page  Size is large Add carousal slider on your shop by category section .
2. Add About Us Section in Seprate Page like contact us page.
3. Our Services section also should be carousal slider.
Store loading time is more according to GT-Metrix and PageSpeed Insights Tools need to resolve these pointers

Defer offscreen images - Apply Lazyloading all the images.
Eliminate render-blocking resources - Need to Preload all the css files which are blocking.
Ensure text remains visible during webfont load - Apply font-display : swap or font_display : 'swap'
Largest Contentful Paint element - Remove the lazyloading from Largest visible content like banner slider
Reduce the impact of third-party code - Apply lazyloading concept

It will help to rank higher in google search and customers usually don't stay on the website if it is taking higher time to load

Thank You

I took a look at your store, think88.com.au, and here are some suggestions to improve your store and enhance the user experience:

  1. Clear and Consistent Branding: Make sure your branding elements like logo, color scheme, and typography are consistent across all pages. This helps in creating a cohesive and professional look.

  2. Homepage Design: Consider adding a visually appealing hero banner or slideshow at the top of your homepage to showcase your products and catch visitors' attention. Highlight your unique selling points and key product categories to engage users and guide them towards exploring your store.

  3. Navigation and Categories: Review your navigation menu and ensure it is easy to navigate and clearly categorizes your products. Consider organizing your products into relevant collections or categories to help visitors find what they are looking for quickly.

  4. Product Presentation: Enhance your product pages by adding high-quality product images from multiple angles. Include detailed product descriptions, specifications, and any unique features or benefits. Consider using product videos to provide a better understanding of your products.

  5. Trust and Social Proof: Build trust with your visitors by adding customer reviews and testimonials. Encourage customers to leave reviews after their purchase. You can also consider adding trust badges, security seals, or any certifications you have obtained to instill confidence in your customers.

  6. Clear Call-to-Action: Ensure that your "Add to Cart" and "Checkout" buttons are prominently displayed on your product pages. Make it easy for customers to proceed with their purchase by keeping the checkout process simple and streamlined.

  7. Mobile-Friendly Design: Optimize your store for mobile devices as more and more people are shopping on their smartphones. Test your website on different mobile devices and ensure that it is responsive and provides a seamless experience across various screen sizes.

Hey @Candice23,

You have done most of the things the right way. Your store feels impressive at first glance. The page load speed is also under 3 seconds. But, there are a few areas of improvement which upon getting fixed will give you a competitive edge.

Firstly, make your product pages more convincing by adding high-quality product images but ensure it doesn’t increase the page load time.

Also, content is missing under the reviews, box dimensions, features, and measurements subsection on your product description page. Add relevant details to avoid shopper feeling less informed due to missing product details.

Missing details lessen the confidence of the shopper, and he might decide not to purchase or look for another website.

You haven't mentioned your social media presence, activities, and followers, but your store domain authority is very low around 3. Now it will require a strategic approach to improve it.

  • Try to procure relevant backlinks on your website from high-authority websites in your niche.
  • Reach out to guest blogging websites with better authority than your store to share your interest in writing a post for their site.
  • Create helpful content for your blog section in various formats, like comprehensive guides, infographics, and bite-size videos. The more time customers spend, the less will be the bounce rate.

Hope It helps!!
