How can I increase the speed of my online store?

Hi there,

My store has a slow speed score and i don't have alot of apps. All the apps i have is what i need, can someone please help me to speed up my store?

Oh, yes, it's a real pain. What's your store's score? In general, it's hard to say what exactly slows down the store. Usually, it's caused by third-party scripts like facebook, google and a bunch of different js snippets. You can also use Google Lighthouse to get some insights.

But each store is unique in some way, so it should be investigated separately.

Thank you! Well, here are some insights:

* the overall performance is not that bad actually

* consider making off-screen images deferred (those are the images that are not visible on the loading screen, but need to be scrolled to)

* as I said, there's bunch of javascript that is slowing down the page load. It's a common problem for 90% of Shopify stores

* Google Lighthouse says that the DOM size is too large, but it needs some further investigation.

In general, as I said your store is pretty fast compared with some other Shopify stores. I thought there can be some quick fixes, but looks like there are some more deep issues (like the aforementioned javascript code), sorry. Do you need assitance with that?

This is a great question! You can improve the speed of your online store by slightly reducing the quality of images on the homepage. We do have a great article that goes into depth about image optimization for your website. Additionally, you can consider to use a system font and remove insufficient code from the theme. 
 
We do have a great help document that goes into the factors you can and cannot control with your store speed. You can also hire a Shopify Expert if you are interested in having someone assist you with the task.
