Hello! I cannot connect my domain name to my Shopify store. I just bought a domain and when i want to connect to Shopify store, there is a notif says " This domain is already connected to another Shopify store.". I already try to connect manually with DNS Record but i still can't connect it until now. Maybe there is some mistake when i try connect manually, but i didn't know where the mistake is. Please how can I remove the domain from the store that holds my domain? and connect the domain the one i just bought with shopify store

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
Kind regards,

Hi,

It could be because In the past your domain was used by another Shopify store and it's still linked to the inactive store in shopify system.

To solve  this issue contact Shopify Support via this link here

I suggest you the online chat option.

The Support Advisor will remove the domain from the old store so you can link it to your store.

They will need proof that you currently own this domain so make sure you have it when you contact them.

If my feedback was useful, a Like would be greatly appreciated.

If my solution solves the problem, please Mark it as Solution!

Hi @zorrobujaziand ,

I’m sorry to hear you are currently facing issues with a domain that is connected to another store. Good news is that there are a couple of steps you can take to resolve this. First, ensure if you own the store to which the domain is currently connected. If you do, you can try removing the third-party domain from the older store and then connect it to your new store. You can find detailed instructions on how to do this here.

However, if you don't have access to the other store, it's possible that the domain was previously used by another Shopify merchant and is still linked to their inactive store in our system. Don't worry, though, as this can be fixed. To resolve this, I recommend contacting Shopify Support through this link. While I would love to assist you with that here, I do not have access to your store's specific information over social media due to our strict authentication policy. Our Support team will require certain information from you, including proof of domain ownership, so please have that ready when you reach out to us.

Once the domain is successfully removed from the old store, either by your own actions or with our assistance, you will need to connect it to your current store. You can follow our guide here for detailed instructions on how to connect the domain. Depending on your domain provider, you may be able to connect it automatically, or you may need to manually edit the DNS settings on your domain provider's website.

Let me know if that helps.
