Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi
We have been setting up the store and I think it looks at least "nice?". Of course this is a 2 people effort, haven't decided on complex themes (more expensive), instead maybe just tinker a little more with Dawn.
Nowadays, we are trying to get organic traffic but also rely at this time on ads. But we aren't making consistent sales. GA4 says that UK costumers browse a lot and are closer to buy than US costumers, they almost click and run.
This is the store url: www.anypetstore.com please I would gladly accept any feedback you can provide us to achive more sales. We are planning to develop a blog but we want to make relevant content, so we are getting info, but I don't think that's the main issue.
SEO is fine (I think so). Anyway hope to receive some insights from you community.
Thanks in advance.
Hello there,
Zach from TaskHusky here, and as a proud pet parent to three dogs, I always keep an eye out for great pet store finds. I've taken a look at your online store, and I'd like to share some feedback that could help enhance your customer's shopping experience.
Hero Image: The "Shop Now" on your hero image seems inviting, but it's not clickable. This can be confusing for customers who expect to be directed to your products immediately. Making this image a functional link to your product page would improve user navigation.
Pop-Up Overload: While pop-ups can be effective, too many can overwhelm your visitors. Within the first few seconds, users encounter a newsletter sign-up, a chat window, and another notification. This could be distracting and might deter potential customers. Consider streamlining these pop-ups or using them more sparingly.
Irrelevant Recommendations: The 'Recommended for You' section should showcase items that resonate with pet owners. If the recommendations aren't pet-related, it's a missed opportunity for personalized marketing. Tailoring this section to reflect pet products would make more sense and likely engage your customers better.
Cat vs. Dog Segmentation: Pet owners often have a strong preference for either cats or dogs. Your store currently doesn't differentiate between the two, which could be a missed opportunity for targeted marketing. Consider creating separate sections or themes for cat and dog products to cater more specifically to your customers' preferences.
Main Menu Optimization: Your main menu currently hides your product collections under broader categories, which can make navigation less intuitive. Unless you have other priorities (like charity work), I recommend making your product collections the main focus of your top menu. This simplifies the shopping experience and helps customers find what they're looking for much faster.
Implementing these changes should provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for your shoppers, helping to turn their interest into sales. Best of luck with your pet store! We are always here to help.
Thank Your for your suggestions, I will look into them to improve the store.
Here is some feedback and a few suggestions for your store:
Homepage:
-Add CTA button(s) or make image banner clickable
-You could make the dropdown menu open on hover
-Make this heading bigger, and I would center it on the page
-Consider centering the collection links and add quick add buttons to the featured products below
I'd also recommend adding an "about us" page to the store and linking to it in the header.
If you'd like we can provide a full store audit for FREE. You can add that product to cart and it will be FREE at checkout.
Hope that helps!

Hi EmperaRQPet,
This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App.
First of all, congratulations on setting up your site! Your site looks quite wonderful and well-made. I took a look at your store and have a few suggestions that will help increase your conversion rate:
1. Call to action button. Add some call-to-action buttons under your products on your landing page, as well as on your product page.
2. Focus on pet category. Just my personal opinion. I felt that the "Recommended for you" part of your store takes away from the overall professional vibe of the pet online store. Sometimes less is more, so I would suggest just focusing on pet products.
3. Build trust. Sometimes buyers show interest and abandon their cart because they are not sure if they trust your store. Adding information such as company name, address, or a number helps. Also, trust pilot rating etc.
4. Influencer Collab. Since you have visually appealing products, it would be good to connect with micro-influencers, send them some of your pieces, and ask them to create some content for your social media as well as your Shopify store.
5. Connecting online with offline. If you have a showroom / physical store, make sure to always be telling your customers about your online store, adding a quick card with your online store address provides your new customers a chance to purchase again without coming to your physical store.
6. Testimonials. Try to showcase at least 5 testimonials on your site. Whether it's from friends and family, or your offline store customers. Having some social proof helps boost consumer confidence in your site.
7. Ask your customers! (Most effective for increasing conversion) When you have some converting customers, ask them how they found out about your shop. You can easily do so with a post-purchase survey app, and reward your customers with coupons/points to keep them coming back again. Once you find out your strongest marketing channel, focus more effort and money on that.
Hope this helps!

The Ultimate 12 Best Practices to Growing Your Shopify Store
Hi @EmperaRQPet
I am Garcia from the Shopify Advanced Page Builder App PageFly. Your store looks great, but I have some feedback on your collection page. I'd like to offer you the following advice based on my experience as a CRO.
1. Add a consistent style, effect to your CTA button
Your current Call to Action (CTA) lacks a distinct style or effect, which is a crucial aspect to address.
By implementing a clear and attention-grabbing CTA, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of visitors leaving your website due to confusion or feeling overwhelmed. Persuasive CTAs play a vital role in encouraging clicks, leading to an increase in potential leads, clients, and prospects. Therefore, enhancing your CTAs to make them more compelling and noticeable is essential for better engagement and conversion rates.
2. Resize the header and make it sticky
First, consider resizing the header to a smaller size. This change will ensure that it doesn't take up too much screen space, maintaining a clean and uncluttered look. After resizing, you can make the header sticky, meaning it will remain fixed at the top of the page even when users scroll up or down.
Sticky headers are beneficial because they provide constant access to menu navigation, improving site usability. Customers can effortlessly navigate through different sections of your site, regardless of their position on the page. Additionally, with a sticky header, the product search area remains readily accessible, allowing for quick and easy searches without the need to scroll back to the top.
3. Edit the Recommended for you section price on product
Currently I can see that the price is not displaying correctly, and you may want to change it. Please take a look at the red box to see.
One more thing is about the product. It is a pet store, so please consider when you display these products here.
4. Blog posts ideas
For a pet store, engaging and informative content is key to attracting and retaining customers. Here are some ideas for content that could be effective:
If you want to write blogs, you can consider these topics for a higher conversion rate.
5. Make use of the Holiday
Creating promotions for Valentine's Day in a pet store can be a fun and engaging way to connect with pet owners. Here are some promotion ideas tailored for this occasion:
That's my point of view. However, to identify the most effective approach tailored to their specific audience and products, individuals should consider established guidelines and conduct their own user testing. Prioritizing user experience is crucial for success in e-commerce.
Best wishes,

Hey,
Obviously, this is far from a new store and it seems you have set up all the basics. I don't think that design is the issue. You probably have to focus on marketing and implement some programs that make buyers buy from you again after a while (make getting points/credits for each purchase). Additionally, I am obviously biased here as an app developer, but you need more social proof. I know you cannot have hundreds of reviews yet on your products, so try out Platoria AI reviews app from the Shopify store. It will work very well with the products you offer and has a free plan.
All the best and good luck!
