Feedback for your online store from the community
As you can all see Shopify has changed the front admin home page, the previous version had 15-20 accurate important items. Now there are 4 inaccurate unimportant numbers and a graph.
My question is how do we get Shopify to change it back?
PLEASE!!! the new dashboard is depressing
it is very depressing, I have called, posted, facebooked, insta everything. Lets hope they hear!
In my experience with Shopify so far they don't listen or change. But here's hoping, it's awful!
Agreed, our store has been using Shopify for about the last 5 years. ALL of the changes they make to the Admin side of things have ranged from mildly frustrating to outright bad, at least for our use case. They let us do so much customization on our websites, why can't we have our Admin Dash the way we want it too?
Seems like the only way to get things moving is to contact support and ask they put a developer request through. If enough of us do this it should help hopefully!
Good luck with that.....
They don't listen, they just suck.
Seems the only way to get through is to contact support and express your dissatisfaction, and ask they put a developer request through. If enough of us do this it should help
If they (Shopify) cared, they would have given the option to switch back or choose the "classic view." I really do NOT like this new homepage. At least the mobile has the old view (for now.)
To think they will change it because a few folks complain is a joke. Where is our vacation setting? Been begging for that simple feature for a couple of years.
Nope. We're stuck with it.
If you contact support and ask they put a developer request through, it might help. If enough of us do this, it'll put priority on this request!
I completely agree. Before reading your post I created one myself regarding the issue.
I've spoken to support and they put a developer request through. If enough of us do this, it should bump it to the top of the pile (I hope)
I also want to get the old admin back. I hate the new one. Shopify needs to have an option to use the old version - which for me is VERY MUCH BETTER!!!!!! Everytime they change something they make it worse than before not better. Also no I get many PAGE WONT LOAD messages. Maybe 50 times a day.
Contact support, express your dissatisfaction and ask they put a developer request through for the old admin dashboard. If enough of us do this it might help
Also once more I must say ------ whoever is making these changes has no idea what is useful and what is not. It has been 2 years and they wont restore the BAR GRAPHS. I would like to know who at Shopify is responsible for making that moronic change AND LEAVING IT LIKE THAT FOR 2 YEARS!!!!!!
IF I HAD A NAME i WOULD CALL THE CEO AND COMPLAIN.
Agree! If you contact shopify support and ask they put a developer request though for the old admin dashboard, they can do that. If enough of us request this, it might change it quicker 🤞
look at this!!!!!! THIS IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. THE GRAPH IS USELESS. NOT ONLY IMPOSSIBLE TO READ, BUT IT MAKES ME ILL. A graph is to convey information --- not to produce squiggly lines to entertain stoned people.
I assume the person designing the admin pages is either drunk or never finished grade school.
Awful isn't it 😞 if you contact support and tell them, ask they put a developer request through to change things back. If enough of us do this, it might help push it to the top of the developer request pile (hopefully)
and the stupid graph doesn't update. shows old stale information
Need the old home page back URGENTLY - this is a backward step for Shopify - very disappointing to see - all our useful information is now gone.
Contact support and ask them to put a developer request through to change the admin dashboard back. If enough of us do this, it might help!
The new admin page straight up sucks. The graph is useless and provides almost nothing useful. The last iteration of the admin page was solid. Change for the sake of change always sucks.
If they really want to listen to those of us using Shopify they could include the old elements and let us pick what we want to see on our admin page.
I have a question - do you think this sorry excuse of a homepage is on the shopify advanced/enterprise level? I seriously doubt it. Maybe is this is how they will force us to bump up to Plus to get more 'advanced reporting.'
Is anyone here on the higher tier? I have a Basic subscription billed annually.
I am on the next level up and its the same. I am wondering if the developers have sacrificed our home page to speed up other areas in the interface because for the life of me I can't understand why the change!!!!!
Here's what we need to do:
1. Contact shopify support (chat or email).
2. Express your dissatisfaction and ask they put through a form to developers to request a roll back to the old admin dashboard OR the option for store owners to have a choice to switch to 'classic view'.
3. Support will send through the developer request.
We all know developer requests are a bit useless, but if enough of us do this it should bump the request to the top of the pile. Fingers crossed, good luck!
will do, thanks
I alone have been on with them enough times to "bump" it to the top of the list. They simply don't listen, and like 90% of the "updates" in the last 12 months, this is stupid, useless, and creates more work for their customers. It seems the only way to escape their stupidity is to switch platforms, as this shit just keeps getting worse.
How can I go back to the old admin? The new one is no no for me. Any option
Everything shopify has done in the last year has been a complete shitshow. They need to fire their whole development team as they are completely unqualified to do the work. And they are completely unresponsive to the feedback they receive. If anybody has experience in class-action suits count me in.
