Hi there, I have recently changed the name of my store from "Takatso" to "Takatseau". However, as you can see on the screenshot the old name still appears above the web URL. Does anyone know how I can fix that? I have updated the name in all the places I can think of.

How long ago did you change the store title? it appears to be a Google cache issue.

Because your meta description and JSON schema on your website is correctly showing "Takatseau".

I changed it towards the end of last week. Anything you think I can do on my side to fix this?

This is Google's blog post about the March 3rd core update that changes releases the Site Title, Favicon
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names

You can add Schema to tell Google the site name, but I already checked your page source and you did this properly. It's a waiting game.

<script type="application/ld+json">

{

"@context" : "https://schema.org",

"@type" : "WebSite",

"name" : "Example",

"url" : "https://example.com/"

}

</script>

Hi there, @jarydvisser1 !

As mentioned by @InventoryHero this is most likely a Google cache/crawl issue, as in Google has not crawled your store since this change was made. The best way to update this would be to recrawl your site after this change, then clear cookies/cache on your browser - after this, it should then appear correctly. This help doc walks through how to submit your sitemap to Google so they can crawl the new changes, please note this usually takes up to 48 hours before the changes appear. I also want to share this guide on clearing browser cache/cookies which I would also advise to help the new name appear correctly.

I'd love to help you out with some business growth ideas - how do you feel things are going at the minute? Is there anything you'd like to improve or change?

Hello @jarydvisser1,

This is Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

Changing the name of your store can take some time for search engines like Google to update their indexes and reflect the changes. Here are some steps you can take to help speed up the process.

1. Update your website metadata
Ensure that the new name "Takatseau" appears in the title tag, meta description, and header tags of your website. This will help Google understand that the new name is important and relevant.

2. Submit a sitemap to Google
Submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console can help Google index your pages more quickly and accurately.

3. Update your business listings
Update your business listings on third-party directories such as Yelp and Yellow Pages to reflect the new name. This will help reinforce the new name across the web.

4. Build new backlinks
Build new backlinks to your website using the new name "Takatseau". This will help signal to Google that the new name is important and relevant.

Keep in mind that it may take some time for Google to update its index, so be patient and continue to monitor your search rankings.
