How to find IP address of a newly created account without having a Domain settings option available?

I just created a new Shopify website, and I'm trying to transfer over my 3 pre-existing domains. In order to do that, I need to find out what my current Shopify website IP address is, but I can't seem to find it. I try to follow the steps below, but once I get to domains in settings, I don't see any domain settings/DNS options to click on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  2. Click the domain you want to check.
  3. Click Domain settings > Edit DNS settings.
  4. Look for your IP address in the A RECORD section.

Hi @Afterhours ,

If you’re not seeing the DNS settings option under the Domains section, it’s likely because you haven’t fully set up your domains or because they are still being managed by your domain provider rather than through Shopify. Here’s what you can do:

Steps to Find Your Shopify IP Address:

  1. Ensure Your Domain is Connected to Shopify:

    • If your domains are not yet connected to Shopify, you need to do this first.
    • Go to Settings > Domains in your Shopify admin.
    • Click Connect existing domain and follow the steps to connect each of your domains.
  2. View Shopify IP Address:

    • Once your domain is connected, the Shopify IP address should become visible. If you still don’t see it, you can use the following default Shopify IP addresses:
      • 23.227.38.65 (This is the standard Shopify IP address used for connecting most domains.)
  3. Update Your Domain's DNS Settings:

    • If your domains are managed by an external provider (like GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), log in to your domain registrar’s dashboard.
    • Update the A RECORD to point to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
    • Make sure you also set the CNAME record for the www subdomain to shops.myshopify.com.
  4. Verify the Connection:

    • After updating the DNS settings, return to Shopify and click on Verify connection to ensure that everything is set up correctly.

If you still can't find the DNS settings in Shopify, double-check that your domains are indeed connected to Shopify and not just added as placeholders. If your domains are managed externally, you will need to handle DNS settings through your domain registrar’s platform.
