I just basically threw half my money in the toilet. Can someone find out whats the problem? My Shopify store link is https://amazingt-shirtdesigns.myshopify.com
Hi @Gabriel9 , thank you for posting here!
To be honest, when I first visited your store, I wasn't sure what your store aimed to sell. I would suggest that you improve the design and setup of your store before investing heavily in marketing like Google Ads. While it can bring in traffic, it often does not result in conversions, leading to high CPC rates without generating any revenue for the store.
The hero image is also extremely important; it represents what your store sells and the value it brings. I noticed that your store primarily focuses on Y2K clothing, so you might consider using a hero image that showcases your Y2K product lines. Changing your current hero image will likely make it easier for customers to understand your store better.
Your homepage is currently empty, lacking any information or products. When a customer enters your store, the homepage will be the first page they see. Therefore, this page needs to provide an overview and highlight your most special and best-selling products. Additionally, featuring items that are part of a sales campaign will further attract customers. You should include a slide for Featured Products or Best Sellers on this page to help customers see what impressive products your store offers, as well as any ongoing discount campaigns.
Additionally, I noticed that your store has received some reviews, so you could select a few five-star reviews from customers and place them at the bottom of your homepage to build trust with your potential customers.
2. Lacking Favicon Browse Tab
3. Add key USPs section with key icons
5. Make ATC button & price information in unique & prominent styling
5. Redesign of text in product page
I have noticed that all of your products have product names that are too large and too long, making them look unappealing and confusing for your customers. I recommend that you adjust the size and font to be smaller in order to better fit the layout of your store.

Creating a size chart for all products in this format will make your product page much more organized and visually appealing.
I did most of this waiting for results. I will also do something with the shipping as soon as i have time.
Do you think it’s safe for me to use google ads now?
Hi @Gabriel9
Welcome to Shopify Commuity.
Based on the info that you've shared above, let me point out some key things that is a must while opening a ecommerce store.
In summary, you might spend a lot of money on ads. If the visitor find that site not authentic or have UX, visitors will drop off. Offering great products with awesome prices is not enough if the site itself does not convey the value to the visitors. If you are spending on ads, you should invest some on theme as well. You can purchase theme on Shopify theme store or make your own custom theme, but it should be attractive to the visitor.
This is just my initial thought @Gabriel9
I hope you take this as a positive.
Thank you,
Sajat
Hi @Gabriel9,
I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.
I completely understand how frustrating it is to invest so much time and money into ads without seeing any sales. It’s tough, and it can feel like you're just throwing money away.
However, I want to assure you that this isn’t uncommon, especially with a new store. Before diving into strategies to increase traffic, optimize conversions, or retain customers, it's crucial to start from the foundation. Your store still needs significant improvements in areas like design, brand positioning, and product presentation. Without these basics in place, it’s difficult to turn traffic into sales.
Here’s how you can approach this:
- Brand Positioning and Design: Your store should reflect a clear brand identity. A cohesive design that resonates with your target audience can make a huge difference. If visitors don’t immediately get a sense of what your brand is about or feel a connection with it, they might not stick around long enough to make a purchase.
- Product Pages: This is where the magic happens. Your product pages should not only look appealing but also effectively communicate the value of your products. High-quality images, compelling descriptions, and clear pricing are key. If your product pages don’t stand out, visitors might lose interest.
- Product Appeal: Take a hard look at your products. Do they look attractive and unique? Are they presented in a way that makes people want to buy them? Even small tweaks in how you showcase your products can make a big difference.
To turn things around, I suggest starting from the foundation of building your store. Research successful brands in your industry—study their design, brand positioning, and product presentation. Use what you learn to redesign your store, focusing on a cohesive brand identity and attractive product pages. Once you've made some changes, seek feedback from the Shopify Community. Experienced store owners and experts can provide valuable insights to help you improve further.
Additionally, you might find it helpful to watch tutorials from influencers who specialize in Shopify store optimization. They often share valuable tips on how to improve your store's design and increase conversions. Here are a few recommendations:
- Wholesale Ted - Check out this video on how to build a successful Shopify store.
- Shopify Masters - This tutorial covers key design elements for an attractive store.
- Oberlo - They offer great insights, like in this video, on how to optimize your store.
By taking these steps, you’re laying a stronger foundation that will make your store more appealing to visitors and increase your chances of turning that traffic into sales. Focus on building that solid base first, and then you’ll be ready to effectively implement traffic, conversion, and retention strategies. You've got this! And if you need any further advice or support, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Your website has a lot of potential, but a few areas could be refined to boost sales:
1. **Design and Branding**: The site has a basic design that doesn’t fully capture the energy of your products. Enhancing the visual appeal and creating a stronger brand identity could help make your store more memorable.
2. **Product Presentation**: Some images are low resolution, and the product descriptions are minimal. High-quality images and detailed descriptions can significantly increase customer confidence and interest.
3. **Pricing Strategy**: Ensure your pricing is competitive within the niche market of Y2K fashion. Customers may compare your prices with other stores, so offering value through pricing, or additional incentives, could drive more purchases.
4. **Marketing and Traffic**: If you’re not getting enough visitors, it’s hard to make sales. Consider ramping up your marketing efforts, such as targeted ads on social media, email marketing, or influencer collaborations, to attract more traffic.
By focusing on these areas, you can create a more engaging shopping experience that appeals to your target audience and encourages them to make a purchase.
Hey @Gabriel9 ,
In addition to the fantastic suggestions already shared by others in the community, I wanted to highlight the potential of creating a community of fans who are passionate about Y2K fashion. This community could be a great platform for sharing exclusive deals from your store.
If you’re working with a limited budget or don’t have much technical expertise, WhatsApp Channels are an excellent way to get started.
To easily grow your WhatsApp Channel, you can use the “WC: Invite to WhatsApp Channel” app to invite your customers and fans to join.
Just imagine having a WhatsApp Channel with 10,000 dedicated Y2K fashion enthusiasts—think of the possibilities!
Cheers.
