I got scammed from brightkins is totally fake

I recently made a purchase from brightkins.shopify.com. I ordered a hotwheels for INR 899. However, instead of the car , I received a small soft toy which would cost around 50 rupees. This is a clear scam. The website is still active, and I need help getting my money back.

But not sure if people actually take the time and report it to Shopify. Maybe they did, but they took another domain.

under Fraud. I made one report as well.

For a refund, I do not think there is a way to do that, as they use cash on delivery. I am not sure if you could report to the police so that they could maybe track order. You could connect with other people that got scammed and try towrite as a group. But I am guessing police do not care.

Forget refund, let it be a good lesson to be extra careful as there are a lot of scams online, on Shopify too. Some red flags for this shop: no real domain but using a free myshopify subdomain ( maybe just 5% are legit stores, others are either development stores or scams), massive discounts, unfinished homepage, no contact or business info except email.

You can do two actions to add opportunities to get your money back:

1. Report this shop to Shopify and let Shopify know they are selling fake products. You can also contact lawyer to know more details about how to complain this situation in a legal way.

2. Contact credit card provider or banks to stop the transaction from your end. This can at least make sure money is not transferred to this store owner end directly.

If still not working after doing two actions above, you can call the police and get more feedbacks from their end. Thank you!

Hopefully, Shopify will take it down as I personally responded to another post like this about 3 weeks back. Unfortunately, it seems nothing has changed since then.

You should also contact your bank and see if there is a way for them to get you your money back. Just tell them what you've told us and they should be able to help you.

Same here I got scammed by brightkin. Took 899 and delivered box filled with news paper.
