Hey everyone,

I’ve been working tirelessly on my website, Chic & Co - Home, since June and have poured countless hours into getting it up and running. While I’m passionate about what I do, I’m really struggling with SEO, visibility, and indexing.

I know I must be missing something important, and I’m reaching out to this amazing community for a kind person to take a look and give me some guidance. Any advice or feedback on what I might be doing wrong would be truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Shane,

When tackling SEO, make sure every page has a clear focus keyword, integrated naturally into your titles, headers, and meta descriptions. Use tools like Google Search Console to monitor indexing and fix any issues. For in-depth analysis, try Ahrefs or SEMrush—both can help you find new keyword opportunities and track competitors. Also, Yoast SEO offers great real-time suggestions for page optimization. Don’t forget to keep your site fast and mobile-friendly, and regularly create content targeting long-tail keywords to improve visibility.

Hey

Thank you so much for taking the time to share the tips, I will definitely have another look.

I noticed that shopify creates a new URL for each product that i list, would it be better to mark these as no index and only index collection pages?

Also, to test my understanding of what you said above here is an example.

Dummy info.

Product title - Apple Iphone 16 pro max in silver

Meta title: Apple Iphone 16 pro max in silver

Meta description: Apple iphone 16 pro max in silver, in stock online at chic & co home

Although just a very basic example is the above along the right lines?

Thanks

Your example is along the right lines. However, you might want to make the meta title a bit more engaging by adding a unique selling point, such as "Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in Silver – Now Available with Free Shipping!" This helps with SEO while making the listing more attractive. For the meta description, you can add some key features or benefits, like "Buy the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in silver, featuring 256GB storage and a stunning display. In stock now at Chic & Co Home."

As for your URL question, it’s usually best to let product pages be indexed since they can capture search traffic. However, if you have duplicate content or are worried about SEO issues, using no-index for certain pages can be a smart move.

Hi @Chic_home_UK

I hope you are doing well today.
There is an saying in SEO more traffic attracts more traffice. I always suggest my clients to have a paid traffic on the website first keep getting SEO done for the website, so what does this give signals to google about your website getting traffic and with time google divert the traffic to your website.

What you will checking as some actionable steps:

  1. write down your seed keyword that you think your audience is searching for your products.
  2. Now search these keywords to ahref/semrush to check if your selected keywords have some volumes or not, if found less try to serach somthing near to your original keyword i.e, if your keyword is "purchase bike" then try "Buy bike near me".

Now Google gives a free listing to their merchant centre:

You should definately take advantages to this freelisting to get free traffice.

Remember initially the goal is to get traffice paid or organic.

Let me know if that gave you some direction.

Hi @Chic_home_UK,

I'm from Mageplaza, a Shopify solution expert.

I would be glad to review your website and provide feedback on improving its performance. Below are some suggestions to improve your websites:

1. Improving Speed and Performance and mobile and desktop.

Based on an analysis using PageSpeed Insights, your mobile site’s performance score is around 3x, which is below the recommended threshold of 60. Also, on the desktop , the score is just around 6x while the expected score should be above 8x.  Given that much of your traffic comes from mobile users, this could negatively impact their experience and reduce your conversions. Slow load times often frustrate users, making them less likely to complete purchases, which can hurt your sales.

Here are some ways to improve the speed of your website:

  • Review your store’s theme: Some themes are resource-intensive and can slow down load times. Opt for a lightweight, mobile-optimized theme.
  • Optimize your apps: While apps can enhance functionality, too many can slow down the site. Review and optimize or remove unnecessary apps.
  • Reduce extra code: Third-party scripts and tags may increase load times. Removing unneeded code can improve performance.
  • Compress images: Large images can drastically slow down page loading. Use compressed images that retain quality but load faster.
  • Seek professional help: For customized solutions, you may want to work with an expert to tackle performance issues unique to your store.

Following these recommendations will improve the speed of your mobile site, leading to better user experiences and higher conversion rates. You can also check Shopify’s performance optimization tips for more detailed advice.

2. Enhance SEO

Optimizing your web pages can significantly increase organic traffic, bringing more potential customers to your store. SEO is a powerful strategy for driving traffic to your Shopify website.
For a small e-commerce store, aiming for at least 1,000 visitors per month can help establish a stable sales flow.

Key elements to review include:

  • Unique and descriptive title tags and meta descriptions for each page.
  • Incorporating relevant keywords without overstuffing.
For more tips on SEO, refer to Shopify’s SEO checklist to boost your online visibility and increase site traffic.

I hope my suggestions are helpful, feel free to give me any feedback. Good luck!

Hi @Chic_home_UK

It sounds like you're putting in a lot of hard work, and that's commendable! Ensure that your product descriptions are over 150 words, naturally include primary keywords, and avoid duplicating content from other pages. Meta titles and descriptions should be compelling, as these appear in search results.

You might also want to check out SEOPro. It can audit your entire store, flag SEO issues, and even bulk update key SEO fields (meta titles, descriptions, and alt texts). Check it out here.

Hi Shane,

It's clear you've put a lot of effort into Chic & Co - Home! When it comes to SEO, here are a few things to check that could help with your visibility and indexing:

  1. Meta Tags: Ensure all pages have unique and relevant title tags and meta descriptions that include your primary keywords.

  2. Content: Search engines love fresh, engaging content. Try adding blog posts or resource pages to target long-tail keywords that potential customers might be searching for.

  3. Internal Linking: Make sure your site has a strong internal linking structure. This helps search engines crawl your site more effectively and boosts visibility for important pages.

  4. Backlinks: Building high-quality backlinks from trusted sites can significantly improve your ranking. Consider reaching out to blogs or influencers in your niche for collaborations.

  5. Google Search Console: Make sure you've submitted your sitemap to Google Search Console and check for any indexing issues there.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like more specific insights. Best of luck!
