Feedback for your online store from the community
Hey,
I would like to stop my Shopify subscription and store but the password I thought I put in is apparently wrong. So it won’t let me overwrite my store.
Is there a fix to that?
from Louisa.

Hello Louisa, I know of someone who had a similar issue and was able to get help from Shopify support so I suggest reaching out to the team as soon as you can.
Hi there @Bookhold!
Could you let me know what happens currently if you try to reset the password on your store at login?
Are you able to get the reset password email sent to your account owner email address okay and then use that to reset your login password?
Once logged in, you should be able to close your store down yourself as laid out here on our help site.
Let me know if you're having any sort of issue with getting the reset password email sent out or if anything else is not working for you!

Hi Don,
I am logged into my account and I know my password because I reset it, but for some reason when I put my password in to overwrite my store it says incorrect password even though it is the correct password.
Hi again @Bookhold!
Thanks for getting back to me here with that info.
Apologies for my own delay in replying, as I have been away from work for some time.
Would you perhaps have signed up for Shopify initially using a social login like Apple, Facebook, or Google?
If so, then we would just need to have you create a password within Shopify in order to be able to proceed.
You can do this via the 'Manage account' option in your admin as shown here:
From there, you will have an option in the 'Security' menu to create (rather than change) your password:
Could you check this out for me and let me know if you're able to use this option and then subsequently get your store closed down okay?
