Is anyone else having trouble accessing our newly rebranded site?

So we recently rebranded our site which meant connecting a new domain. It seems to have been working okay the last few days but today I can not access the site on Chrome, I tried in incognito and it worked once and then didnt. I then tried mobile which has worked a couple of times and others it hasnt.

We get the message 'sorry this shop is currently unavailable'

Our visits today are low too which makes me think its not just me.

Can anyone confirm and give us feedback.. Link here

Hi @UKBiker !

I just took a look and it appears to be working perfectly on my end. Did you purchase the domain on Shopify? If you take a look at the details under Settings > Domains > and click on your new domain, do you see any error messages at all?

It sounds like a localized issue with the browser you're using. Try to clear your cache and cookies to see if that helps.

If you're still experiencing a back and forth with accessing your website, let me know and we can investigate further.

Cheers!

Thank you.

It was by 123-reg and linked, there was issues but we rectified all of those and it seems to be fine now.

I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes this week.

Works fine with me,
just one small feedback - your navigation bar is too big, it takes 1/4 of the viewport and it hurt the user experience on your website, it would be better if you make it narrower.

Thanks for the heads up, we will shorten that to just 2-3 category links.

I think I have found the issue, we are always used to type the URL in with no www. at the beginning, when we add that it is fine.

Can we do something to correct that so if a customer searches without the www. it still works?

This depends on how you've set up your domain with Shopify. You will need to point a CNAME  record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com in order to fix this.

And for the navigation what I meant is that it is very tall it takes up a big part of the viewport obscuring your content.

We have that at the moment, see here: https://ibb.co/XpvkJp5

Should we try removing and adding this again? Thanks for the help

You should have only one CNAME, you have two identical ones, and also in Settings under Domains you will have to add a both theonlinecycleshop.com with and without www.

Thank you again, I am in the domain settings now. How do I add the domain (without the www.) so it redirects to the correct one?
When trying to add it under domain settings it is asking me to register it like normal. Or do you mean domain settings in 123-reg?

Click on existing domain and add your domain again but without www it should work fine.

Ok so we need to remove the primary domain and add it again as if it was new?

Wont this affect the downtime on our site if we are waiting for 123-reg to run the new details and validate the domain?

Do not remove the primary domain just add it again without the www. Here's how it looks like on one of our client's stores, I have added both.

Thanks, I will look in to it,

Do you also have some info on how to reduce the navigation bar? Does this need to be done with the codes?

You would need a developer to assist you with this if you are not familiar with html and css and how Shopify themes work.
