My store has been open for about a month and I have been getting a lot of traffic, but I don't seem to get any sales. Is there something I should change in order to get conversions or do I just need to be patient?

Hi @MeguMart

I wouldn't put the about me section at the top of your website, customers care about your products more.

Other than that, just stay patient and keep trying to promote your brand to people!

Hey @MeguMart, congrats on the store. I saw your store and it seems pretty neat however, there are a few areas you can target to get more user traffic and engagement too:
1. There are a lot of deciding factors than come into a customers' mind before purchasing a product given the pay before hence, improve on quality of the images and add self explanatory descriptions with each product.

2. Add realistic images and videos to allow the user get a better view of the product.
3. Like other ecomm stores, try adding a zoom in/out feature on product images so that the user can get a better and clearer look of the product.

4. Social proofs play a very huge role in purchases. You shoukd add product reviews and trust badges since it's known that people highly rely on other people's opinions and reviews to decide their own. You can read more about badges here.

5. The holiday season is here and people end up making a lot of purchases - you can have a featured collection based on your offers for BFCM, Christmas, new arrivals, best sellers, selling fast etc like a lot other successful clothing stores. Adding such stickers can help increase your sales by tapping into the psychology of the user. You can know more here.

Hope this helps!
Good luck 😄

Hey @MeguMart

First of all, it's important to check all your funnels in the online store, there is a chance clients are not able to conveniently order, and of course, there is always room for improvements.

Also, you should check your traffic source, maybe your ads don't have the best targeting.

Influencer marketing is also a very good way to drive new clients and sales, to get excess to devoted and responsive audiences, you can try and reach influencers directly or use a platform like InfluPush for example:

Hi @MeguMart

This is PageFly - Free Landing Page Builder. I would love to provide my recommendation for your store about the store design based on 5 years of providing solutions for about 100.000 active Shopify merchants.

So I have just gone through your website and here are some of my thoughts about your store:

Plus points:

  • Your page layout is quite clear
  • You have a page section about your brand story

That being said, I would like to give you some suggestions for improvement. Hope you find it valuable.

1. Homepage:

  • Add a sticky menu

A sticky menu allows users to navigate throughout the site from every part of the page. This means your users experience should be significantly improved and your page will stay engaged with visitors

  • Add testimonial - customer reviews

Customer reviews are crucial to online business. They are proof of your product quality.  You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos on your home page. This will help your store build trust

  • Make your social account links clickable

It’s great that you have your social account on your stie. However, you can consider make it clickable so visitors don’t have to search for your account

2. Product listing page:

  • Have secondary hover images for the product list

Provide extra visual information will help customer have a better understanding of the product with just a simple action. This help to trigger customers’ interest and make better decisions

  • Add average ratings for each product

You should include both the user rating average and number of ratings on the product list items. This is one of the crucial elements for users’ purchasing decisions. They will rely on both to decide whether they should explore further a product

  • Use “Load more” button instead of pagination

I can see you’re using pagination on your product page. I suggest you can use “Load more” button instead. With this button, visitors can compare different products and don’t have to click back and forth between pages.

Hello @MeguMart

Hope you are doing well.

I understand how it can be frustrating to be doing everything right but still not getting your traffic converted to sales. You may find comfort in knowing that you're not the only one on that boat. Millions of Shopify store owners are facing the same problem. This is not because you are necessarily doing something wrong, but rather because Sales is an organic process, involving people getting to know you, visiting your brand, looking at your products, comparing them with others, and finally making the decision to purchase from you. So this takes some time, during which you have to hold on tight. But, you can't be just passively waiting for sales to grow, so I would recommend you look at these tips and see which ones you can use: You have great faith in your online shop, but why aren’t visitors converting?

Another Thing you could consider: Not all traffic is good traffic.

Traffic will only have any chance of converting to sales if they are being generated by the right consumer. If your product is for females under the age of 30, but your ads are being viewed by males over 50, that is a lot of traffic, but it will never convert to sales. So, before you spend on targeting, a good idea is to have a simple Google Trends search, that will tell you who is looking for the products you search, what is their age, gender and location. Then you can put forward some really targeted ads that are bound to generate clicks.

Here are some areas where you could consider working on

  • Newsletter

A good idea is to have your newsletter as a popup so that it shows up when the customer enters the home page. This will make it more visible and attract more people to your newsletter from where you can target more interested people.

  • About us

People tend to buy more from people they can easily relate to. If you share your journey, your goals, and your aspirations with your customers, it will be easier for people to connect with you. If you can create an emotional connection with your visitors, people are sure to buy products from you.

  • Banner

It is a good idea to place a banner on the homepage that tells your customers exactly what they are looking for. You may add a separate banner for each of your product types

Your banner looks very good and matches your theme and product. Consider, however, adding a Shop Now button to your banner, which will take you directly to the relevant product page.

It is a good idea to have multiple slides on your banner (each should stay for around 5seconds) for each product type and have the CTA buttons for each slide redirect the customer to a different product page.

  • Product Description

People always don’t know everything about a product beforehand. When they see a product or show interest in a product, they want to know more about the different aspects and specifications of the product. If product descriptions fail to provide people with enough information about the product and fail to create an appeal for the product, the visitors won’t buy the product. So, provide elaborate and appealing product descriptions to every product to increase your sales.

  • Product Star Rating

Use a star rating widget to let website visitors evaluate your business. They create standardization, allowing customers to compare different products easily. It also helps you get feedback about your products.

  • Favicon

I see that your store doesn’t have a Favicon. Having a favicon on your website is crucial. It makes your site recognizable on browser tabs, but it too gives a professional look to your website.

  • Testimonial

Customers read user reviews more than they read product descriptions. If they find that 50 other people have liked your product and have purchased from you, it helps your credibility and they feel safer buying from you. So try to add some reviews of your products and services to your homepage.

Hope this helps you. If you find it useful, leave a like to let me know! Happy Selling! Thank you and the Very Best of Luck to you!
