hello, I launched my website today and I’m very excited to see where this takes me. I have had 3 active carts in the past hour but no orders as yet. I know that I only launched 2 hours ago but I’m getting nervous lol. I had a pretty good pre launch strategy and gained some leads during that time, I also managed to build a good following on my business Instagram and Facebook pages. Would anyone mind checking out my website and letting me know what you think? Thank you in advance!

Hi, @Deborahv

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your store link, I would be happy to share some feedback on your shop!

Firstly, congratulations on launching your store and for choosing Shopify! I really enjoyed looking through your store and it looks like you have a lot of great options for your customers. Although, I do have a few suggestions that you can do to improve your shopping experience. I’d recommend removing the music soundtrack that automatically plays when viewing your site. This is more due to usability and customer experience; auto-play tends to annoy customers, and interrupts their browsing experience. Also, I’d remove the Halloween animation as this can distract your customers from viewing your products.

I’d also suggest updating the slideshow on your homepage to provide a call to action paired with a lifestyle photo. An example of this would be to add a “Shop here” button that promotes your winter collection, a specific product, or collection. Feel free to check out our guide on Adding Free Stock Photos to browse high quality images that you may use!

I love how you have linked your socials on your page.  You can take this one step further by introducing some branding material from your Instagram to your home page. This can be done by displaying custom shoppable Instagram feeds that will show your post so that customers can engage with you one social media.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I'd also like to know more about your business! How is your current marketing strategy going with bringing customers to your product pages?

Hello @Deborahv

Hope you are doing good. Your store looks nice and here are few suggestions.

Add a favicon, which helps to find your store when customer had multiple tabs in their browser.

Add a nice logo, which gives identity and separates from the competition.

Make a sticky header for easy navigation. It helps customer to access menu at any time they want.

Add Shop Now(CTA) on the hero banner.

Include Blog page, Blog posting will allow you to show your followers a personal side of your business. In this way you can engage with Existing and New customers.

Add Testimonials or reviews on the homepage to build trust with the visitors.

Update contact us page with more contact details. It builds trust on your store.

Make social links open on new tab.

You can promote your products with word of mouth strategy. Boost your sales with the app from the shopify app store   which helps to increase your sales.

There is no terms and conditions checkbox at checkout. I suggest you to install an app from shopify app store which provides 'I agree to the Terms and Conditions' before checkout .As it makes easy for the customer to read your terms and policies.

You can also sell your products on Etsy marketplace as it is very good platform to sell unique, handmade and Vintage goods . If you are already selling on Etsy store consider our Etsy Integration app in the shopify app store. Etsy is a Huge marketplace for selling creative goods such as art & collectibles, crafts & supplies, jewellery &accessories and more,  if you have any unique/handmade/vintage goods in your store, you can give further exposure to your products.

Thanks,

Hello, thank you so much for your feedback. Currently I offer a variety of clothing and accessories on my store, I try to not put my self in one category hence the “factory” in my business name. I’m learning how to run ads through Facebook pixel. Traffic have been okay I guess. I‘ve had 114 visitors today and 1 customer purchased 6 items. I guess I would say my launch didn’t exactly turn out the way I expected as far as sales, because I spent months implementing a marketing strategy but obviously it was not as effective as I’d hope. Moving forward I’m hoping to get more traffic and conversions from the Facebook ads, word of mouth from current customers and posting consistently on my business and personal social media platforms. I also plan on testing the waters with influencer marketing. Do you have any suggestions on the best marketing strategies?

Hi again, @Deborahv

Thank you for sharing more about your business and marketing plan. I’m so happy to hear that you were able to get your first sale. That’s definitely a step in the right direction! I understand that your launch didn’t go as planned, although it’s common that you will have to tweak your marketing strategy slightly until you receive the results that you’re looking for.

You also mentioned that you are using Facebook Ads to drive traffic and conversion. This is a great idea as it allows you to create highly targeted campaigns based on specific demographics and geographic conditions to ensure that you are advertising to the correct customers. We have a really great guide on The Quick and Easy Way to Put Your Facebook Ads on Autopilot to help you with setting up your ads. You can also check out a variety of marketing campaign ideas on our Shopify Blog here. For instance, a popular way to market to millennials and Gen Z is through Snapchat ads. If this is the demographic you are targeting, feel free to check out our 'How to Advertise on Snapchat' guide to add this to your marketing campaign.

Since you mentioned you are already posting on your social media accounts, click here to learn more about creating a social media marketing strategy. If you run out of content to post, you can create a blog on your store talking about your business and products. You can then share the blog directly to your social media and increase your online presence. Learn more about adding a blog to your store.

We also have some great articles that go over how to increase your conversion rate and drive traffic to your store. Check our Shopify Blog on 'Conversion Rate Optimization' and 'How to Increase Web Traffic' as they will help ensure your store is as ready as possible to increase sales.

Feel free to reply back to this thread with any questions or updates and we can continue our conversation further!
