Looking for constructive feedback

Hi,

I am new here and have just setup a Shopify drop shipping store. I don’t like the layout myself but a trying to make it better. I would prefer a landing page with a little background and what I am offering. And have tabs on top for the different collections.

Haven’t sold anything till now. Have setup a Facebook business account and have shared both Shopify and Facebook account with friends on Facebook.

I probably need some marketing.

Am open for any constructive criticism and suggestions to help me.

Hi Ben

I'm in a similar situation, your site looks pretty good to me for something you've just set up.  I started in January and am only about to do some promotion now, I've spent a lot of time on the store design, then moved to metadata - have you got your metadata worked out?  I can recommend a couple of good Apps that are cheap and if you're like me, once I used them for a while I worked out how it all worked and didn't need them anymore.   Also, product data, I've spent more time on automating updating products with fields I need but at the end of the day I still have to export, edit and import my products to get them ready for the store.

Where are getting your products from?

In terms of some suggestions for going ahead:

- maybe you could consider a blog on your site

- I'm used to being able to access product categories through the main menu, as you stock more products maybe include this

- Common feedback I've received early on and also read a lot is not to have too plain a store, people like images and colour schemes so maybe work on your brand a little more.  Some sites that have helped me a lot include:

When it comes to marketing, if I could afford it I would hire a consultant to set up my branding assets like email templates, then design and execute the initial campaigns.  I'm going to start with Facebook, which posts into Insta as well if you want it to.  I think content is one of the most important things to get a growing follower base, if you have regular content that's engaging then people will follow and you'll get some organic growth.  Advertising campaigns using the likes of Google Ads is the obvious next thing, but it's all about getting in front of as many people as possible so content is needed to do that whichever way you look at it.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi @Ben_J

I love your store, it has clean and minimalist design as well as multiple payment options displayed, clear product pricing, email subscription feature.

But, your store, it also miss clear value proposition, limited product categorization, absence of trust signals, weak hero section as well as customer reviews/testimonials.

So, you can consider my recommendations for you:

1. For the Header & Navigation

  • Implement a clear, hierarchical navigation system
  • Replace generic terms with specific category names. Use descriptive labels that clearly communicate what users will find.
  • Add dropdown menus or a mega menu to show subcategories when users hover over main categories.
  • Include a "Featured" or "Best Sellers" navigation item to help new visitors quickly find popular products.

2. CTA

  • Your homepage has minimal CTAs with only a generic "View all" button for product and a newsletter subscription button. Product cards have no direct "Add to cart" or "Quick view".
  • So, you can add a prominent primary CTA above the fold → Include a clear action button like "Shop Now" or "Explore Collections" in the hero section.

3. Hero Section

  • The hero section consists only of a simple text banner stating "Welcome to our store" with no compelling imagery, value proposition, or clear call-to-action → Create a compelling hero section with high-quality imagery & Add a prominent CTA button in the hero section.

4. Featured Products

  • Your homepage displays a limited selection of featured products with minimal information. Products shown include jewelry, electronics, cups, and wallpaper murals, creating a confusing product focus.
  • So, you can create a more cohesive product selection. Add brief product descriptions or key features (Include 1-2 key benefits on product cards) → Implement product badges (Highlight "New Arrivals," "Bestsellers," or "Limited Stock" to create urgency and draw attention)

Hi @Ben_J

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community! I'm Donna from MooseDesk , your go-to Live Chat, WhatsApp and FAQ App here to help you enhance your customer support experience.

Congrats on your store! I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. Here are some of my recommendations for better customer experience, please kindly check 😍

  1. Home page Revamp
  • Lack of Introduction: The homepage does not provide any introduction about the store, its mission, or featured products. Adding a short welcome message or a brand story would help customers connect with your store.
  • Unclear Product Categories: While there are "Catalog" and "Departments" sections, they lack visual representation or descriptions. Adding images and short explanations for each category would improve navigation.
  • The logo is too large and takes up excessive space on the header. This makes the navigation bar look unbalanced and reduces visibility for important elements like the menu and cart icon. I recommend you could use a transparent PNG version of the logo to ensure it integrates seamlessly with different background colors.

2. Product Detail Pages

  • Missing Information: Each product page should clearly display the price, dimensions, material, and key features.
  • Return & Warranty Policies: Include clear return, refund, and warranty policies to build customer trust.
  • Customer Reviews: Adding a review section will increase credibility and provide real user feedback to potential buyers.
  • Text Formatting Issues:

The text block inside the red box is misaligned, causing readability issues. If viewed on mobile, the text might appear too cramped, leading to poor user experience. So you can consider using proper sectioning instead of tables for better responsiveness and ensure uniform font size and weight across descriptions.

3. Add a Live chat Support

I can see that your website lacks a help widget and live chat feature to allow customers to contact you immediately. How about having a powerful live chat to assist potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time? This can help prevent abandonment and encourage purchases.

I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a FREE Live Chat, WhatsApp & FAQ App. You can easily reach customer support via WhatsApp, ensuring immediate assistance for inquiries. Also, the widget provides multi self-Service options such as Order tracking, Translation and FAQ section empower customers to resolve common questions on their own, reducing the need for direct support.
