Looking for feedback on my month-old store: WidgetWares.com

Good day everyone,

My store has been around for a month and although I have had a few small sales, I'm positive there is room for improvement.  Since store launch, I'm in the top 2% of traffic according to Shopify's engines but my conversion rate is 0.13%.  My ads are putting me into debt and something needs to change soon.  I'm hoping for some feedback that will help me increase my conversion rate.

Details

  • Store sells accessories (widgets) for around the home, electronics, car, and pets.
  • Store may be found at: http://www.widgetwares.com
  • I have advertised on Facebook and TikTok.  All have been video ads ranging in 20 - 40 seconds in length.
    • I have had a higher quantity of sales from TikTok, but only on one product (Reversible Octopus).  
    • I have sold a few other products from my Facebook ads, but low quantities (one of each).
  • My store is giving me a slow speed rating of 28.  I have removed all apps not in use.  I will start compressing images next.
  • I tried using a "straight to checkout" app to bypass the cart, but I think my customers didn't appreciate it.  There was much less activity to my checkout, and I concluded that people wanted an Add to Cart button, so I went back to normal.
  • I have a chat feature enabled.  Nobody has used it in the week it has been on except for a spammer, lol.  Of course...
  • I have a Facebook Page and recently opened up an Instagram page as well.  There is nothing on my Instagram yet as it's new.
  • I'm sending Abandoned Cart emails.
  • I created coupon codes on weekends for 10% off.  The codes were posted in my banner at the top of the page as well as my Facebook page.  I didn't see an increase in sales that could be attributed to the codes.
  • I'm selling in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
    • My sales have only come from Canada and the USA so far.

I think that's about all I can think of to share.  I'm happy to try anything, and would love to hit a 2% conversion.  At this stage I'd be happy with a 1% to start.  I'd appreciate any criticisms/feedback you can offer.  Thank you.

Add testimonials on the homepage to build trust with other visitors. 

- Add a section of trending and new arrival products.

Add customer engagement tools like a loyalty rewards program, web push notifications, and others. If a customer leaves your store, send them a price drop alert notification with the help of a web push notification. Web push notification helps to bring back customers to your store and helps in reducing the bounce rate. You can send updates and abandoned cart push notifications to bring customers to your store.

Entice customers by giving them loyalty points on activities like sign up, leaving a review, allowing push notification, visiting a store, on birthdays, and more. This will help you to increase the email and push subscribers. You can then run email and push campaigns to reach your customers on the basis of customer behavior. This helps in increasing the conversion and retention rate.

Add exit-intent popup. Track when someone is about to leave your website and show the visitor an exit-intent popup with attractive offers and coupon codes to complete the purchase.

Sorry to hear you have invested so much with so little return. When you get high traffic and little to no sales it either means you are getting the wrong kind of traffic (not your target audience) or there is something within your store that is turning people away (product prices, shipping time, shipping cost, a site error etc.). I've taken a look through your store, hopefully my feedback will provide some insight as to what is going on.

PRODUCTS
You are offering a wide range of products in your store. I think the mistake people make in selling so many products is that they assume they will have something that will appeal to everyone but unfortunately it has the opposite effect. After weeks and months of plenty of traffic but little to no sales, store owners are left discouraged and frustrated. It also makes advertising an absolute nightmare. Definitely don't want that for you so give our video a watch, we explain this exact issue and tell you how to fix it:

HOMEPAGE BANNER
That main banner area is prime real estate for selling.  One of the keys of selling is getting inside your customers head, what problem do they have that you can solve? What words or phrases do they use that you can as well to show that you understand their needs. We recommend using this type of text in your banner. For the format, we recommend having a professional photo of your products, a title introducing your brand or product, a line of text underneath that expands on your title and a call to action button such as "Shop Now". Here is an example:

BLURRY PHOTOS
I noticed a few photos in your banner are blurry. This happens when you use an image that is too small for the given space. It will get stretched out to fill the area but when it does that you lose image quality and get that blurry/pixelated look. I’d recommend replacing your photos with better, high quality ones. You can find high quality stock photos for free from the sites we list in this video:

LOGO
Your logo is one of those things that holds a lot of weight in how professional or unprofessional your store looks. I would highly recommend having a professional logo done up for your store, it’s a worthy investment.

Once your logo is finished, you can match the fonts and colors in your store to your logo. This is going to level up your store even more and make you look very professional.

SHIPPING
You need to add in an estimated shipping time at checkout. For some people, shipping time can be a deal breaker so they won’t proceed with their purchase without that information.
If you are concerned that displaying longer shipping times will turn people off, I would say that for some it might but long-term, you want happy customers so it's better to say up front, "hey, this could take up to 3-4 weeks to arrive" rather than not giving a shipping time and then getting an email 2 weeks later from an unhappy customer wondering where their package is.

Fantastic and very informational response.  Thank you.  Sometimes the ultra-obvious is not so obvious when you are in the weeds.  It helps to have the reality of the situation told back to me.  The videos were/are very helpful as well.  Thank you for taking the time to assess my site.  I have some soul-searching to do with my product line.

Hi, 

After review of you store, I will advise you to install some social proof apps on the store. Most of the buyers will not buy if they did not found the site authentic. For first time buyer's you have to win their trust and social proof are great way to achieve that.

Also, you have not added any push notification app pan your store.Push notifications have high conversion rate. Most of the visitors just leaves after adding product to cart without purchasing it. Push notifications are great way to remind them of their abandoned cart and nudge them to complete the purchase.

You are really missing out with this core functionality which could easily recover some lost sales for you.

There are plenty of app on appstore which are offering push notification either for free or for very reasonable price.

This one is offering abandoned cart ,back in stock and price drop notification on push and emails.
