Looking for feedback on my very first store to improve conversion

After months of brainstorming and work on the design, we finally launched our very first e-commerce brand - How Are You These Days https://www.haytd.com

We're a brand based in Seattle, focusing on offering high-quality products that help people improving their health and self-care routines, while committing to saving the environment by making sure all our packaging is biodegradable.

We launched the website in mid-December 2022, so unfortunately we missed the majority of the holiday season. A month has passed and while our website visit is ok (40-80) per day, our conversion is pretty low.

We've worked on our website a lot and currently trying to promote green superfoods such as our Matcha Powder as the core product. The product itself has gotten really good feedback and we have some promising return customers, however it seems we still couldn't break through to the general public just yet.

We have tried:
- be active on our social media - instagram, tiktok (we post content everyday, either via story or ig post)
- offer free return to build trust
- have active call to action on the front page
- paid ads on instagram, fb
- create bundles to save customer some $

What we're thinking of trying next:
- reach out to micro-influencer to partner up
- reach out to health blog/magazine for possible featuring
- focus more on our recipe page to drive more traffic?
- run a pop up in our local city
- maybe run a google ads?
- add more products (we're already in talks with some businesses)

What we know still needs to fix
- the formating of the bundles on our main page is weird on desktop, but on mobile it's fine. We're focusing on mobile traffic since that's 90% of our website traffic.

We're definitely a beginner at this, just a team of two people with a dream and ready to take this seriously. We really appreciate any feedback you have for our stores, and could point us to the right direction.

Thank you for reading all this, hope it wasn't too long 🙂

Hello @HAYTD,

This is flareAI - Generating Sales from Google Search, on Autopilot. Helping Shopify merchants in generating $5 million in sales from Google Search.

If my suggestions helps you, please Like and Accept solution to let me know

I would like to give you some suggestions regarding your store here.

1. Display store's contact info like phone number, email address, and office address in the Contact Us page.
2. Add more detailed filters in collection pages to help your visitors narrow in on the specific product they're looking for and find products they might be interested in based on certain features (e.g. size, color, category)
3. Add sticky header
Adding sticky header allow users to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements without scrolling up to the top of the page. They increase the discoverability of the elements in the header and the chance that users will take advantage of them.
4. Add Blogging in the store
Blogging is an amazing way to drive traffic to your website and increase your SEO. The more your blog, the more content the search engines have to crawl and index. This means they can easily recognize that your site is a resource of information for people to access.
5. Header menu has too much white space. You can reduce the header menu space and make it look more attractive.

6. The footer TikTok social media account is wrongly linked to your store's Instagram account. Add the correct link for TikTok account in the footer.

There are a number of strategies you can implement to increase sales.

1. Optimizing your website for conversions
Ensure that your website is easy to navigate, has a clear call to action, and is mobile-friendly.

2. Marketing and promotion
Use various marketing channels such as social media, email, and influencer marketing to promote your products and drive traffic to your website.

3. Proper SEO
Optimize your website for search engines so that it ranks higher in search results, which can help increase visibility and drive more traffic to your website.

4. Offering discounts and deals
Offering special deals and discounts can be a great way to attract customers and increase sales.

5. Providing excellent customer service
Good customer service is essential for building trust and loyalty among your customers, which can ultimately lead to more sales.

6. Highlighting the unique selling points of your products
Make sure to clearly communicate the benefits and unique selling points of your products to help drive conversions.

7. Write blog post features of influencers in your market
Another way to get more links and increase traffic to your online shop is by writing a blog post that features influencers in your niche market.

8. For good branding, post updates regularly in your social media accounts.

Hi @HAYTD ,

This is Victor from PageFly - Landing Page Builder. Congratulations on your store. I have just had a look at your store. Your store is pretty. I have some suggestions for your Homepage for a better chance of gaining sales. May it help!

1. Improve your sticky header

A sticky header allows customers to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements whenever they scroll up or down on the page. It is also the fastest and most useful way to access the necessary information for the customers when they reach your website.

Your header takes a quite big area on your site. It prevents what merchants can find in your store. I'll explain below.

2. Invest in your hero banner and CTA buttons

The banner is particularly important to have attractive imagery and design. It is the first thing customers see when they visit your website. Let's get consumers to know exactly what you're having in 5 seconds first.

Besides, a primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store.

With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, or a product page, etc.

3. Add Testimonials - Customer Reviews

  • Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each review and you can also add customers’ photos above their names to enhance trust in what they say, like this:

Or

  • Reviews are crucial when it comes to shopping online.

Besides, you can add blogs or reviews of your customer as testimonials. You can use third-party review apps such as LooxYotpo, or Judge.me, etc.

4. Always highlight the core products and brand features

You need to summarize and highlight core product and brand features, including key product details and attributes, free shipping available, and return policy information on your homepage, so that the customers can quickly evaluate not only a site’s product catalog, but also the brand’s policies, value proposition, and trustworthiness, from the homepage.

Furthermore, for the upcoming Valentine's Day, will you run any campaigns? Here are some promotion ideas for your campaigns, I hope they will be useful for you.

1. Personalize Your Offer for Valentine's Day

Gift-giving is almost like a ritual on Valentine’s day. You can make the most out of it by offering products around Valentine's theme.

  • If you already have products that people buy on Valentine’s Day, give them a little touch of love. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a digital or a physical product.
  • If you don’t have a physical product, you can still curate special Valentine's Day offers around your services that can be used on Valentine’s Day like “two for one” or “buy one, get one” deals.

2. Mention Your Delivery Time & Rates Clearly

Delivery time is one of those things that can make or break your business. And if it’s some holiday, buyers take the delivery dates too seriously. To convert these visitors into potential buyers, mention your delivery dates clearly across your website, app, and emails. Also, specify the last date to place an order to reach on time.

PageFlyVictor_4-1674266566957.png

3. Create Gift Guides

As mentioned earlier, Valentine’s Day is the season of gift-giving. But, when it comes to finding a perfect gift, people have what’s called a perpetual dilemma.

You can do this by making Valentine's day gift guide. Break the guide into sections based on gender, interests, or personality traits like this:

  • By Category: Valentine’s Day gifts for her/him, couples, teenagers
  • By Price Range: Best Valentine’s Day gift under $25, $50, $100
  • By Interest: Gift ideas for art lovers, dog lovers, and foodies

Hope all my suggestions will be helpful to you. Good luck and have a nice day!

Cheers!

Hey @HAYTD.

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate the context that you have shared with us as that is very helpful! Looking into your online store, I noticed that you are using the announcement bar to inform your visitors of your free shipping offers that are available. That is a great way to get your potential customers browsing through the available collections.

What do you think about including a slideshow section as the first section on the homepage? This can strengthen your brand by allowing your customers to learn more about the products and business as soon as they load into your store without having to scroll. For example, you could include your best seller or favorite product to include in the slides. Adding a slideshow section will also make the homepage more personalized and engaging. This can also help create a buyer incentive.

You have a beautiful store, by the way! While I was taking a look at your online store, I did notice that the TikTok social media link on the footer is navigating to an Instagram page that is not available. I took a screenshot of the section that I am referring to:

22-28-41666-11916

With that being said, you can make changes to the social media links within the footer by navigating to the Theme Editor and selecting on the theme settings. You should then see the section to update the social media links on the footer.

Let us know what you think and if you have any questions.

You could also get involved in a subreddit where your target group resides. As long as you keep your advertising indirect or only mention it sometimes in a comment, the subreddits usually don't ban you. If you're interested in that kind of thing, google about 'finding customers on reddit' or something like that and be certain that your advertisement is not too bold.

What worked really well in my online shop is Live Chat support. Integrate a live chat service and be online when most of the visits to your store happen. By being there and talking to people, you can find out what drives them, why they are hesitant to buy, and you can simply create great lasting customer relationships. People will be much more likely to buy from you after a friendly chat.

If I helped you, please consider getting in touch with me for a 10 minute interview. I'm looking to build software that helps online shops. Me and my two team members would like to talk to you to find a good problem to tackle with software.
