Hey @GrumpyKoala,

Congratulations on launching your store! I've taken a look through and I have some feedback for you.

HOMEPAGE BANNER
You have a banner but also a large square image above it as well. Neither the image or the banner images are clickable or lead to any products that you are selling so they aren't serving you or fulfilling their purpose. That main banner area is prime real estate for selling.  One of the keys of selling is getting inside your customers head, what problem do they have that you can solve? What words or phrases do they use that you can as well to show that you understand their needs. We recommend using this type of text in your banner. For the format, we recommend having a professional photo of your products, a title introducing your brand or product, a line of text underneath that expands on your title and a call to action button such as "Shop Now". Here is an example:

macarons-04.png

LOGO
Your logo is one of those things that holds a lot of weight in how professional or unprofessional your store looks. I would highly recommend having a professional logo done up for your store, it’s a worthy investment.

Once your logo is finished, you can match the fonts and colors in your store to your logo. This is going to level up your store even more and make you look very professional.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
I’d recommend working on your product descriptions. There are things you can add in and change in order to increase conversions. We did a video all about this which you can watch here:

SEO 2
I can tell there has been some work done there, which is great, I’d encourage you to keep working on it more. When writing your SEO, you want to make sure you include the same words that a person trying to find your product would search in Google. I know SEO is no small task but it’s going to make a big impact. One very important piece of selling is getting the right kind of traffic to your store, your target audience (high traffic is not a good thing if it is the wrong kind of traffic). Good SEO will help you reach your intended audience organically. We created a video walking you through how to do your SEO that you can watch here:

SALES CHANNELS
I’d recommend utilizing Shopify’s sales channels for your social media pages. This is going to allow you to tag products that you post on your social media and then have that tag lead to your store. Here is how to implement it for Facebook and Instagram.

CONTACT PAGE
I noticed you didn't have one, here is a video on how to set up a contact form:

PRODUCTS
This is something we see very commonly on the forums. People tend to start shops selling things like jewelry, clothing, tech and etc. The problem with this is that these types of items can already be purchased offline in hundreds of retail stores as well as online through thousands and thousands of online stores. When a person is searching for a clock or headphones in Google, these big companies with massive marketing budgets are who is showing up in search results and who you are competing with for customers.

Now, a person can complete IF they give people a reason to purchase from them vs. the other guys. An example of this might be someone who sells locally, their "reason" as to why you should purchase from them vs the other guy is because they are local and a lot of people are passionate about shopping local. In addition to this, they can also get products to their customers faster and can offer incentives such as free local delivery.
I would think about all your "whys" and what sets you apart and use that in your marketing and in the text in your store.

What we recommend is selling winning products. A winning product choice should have these qualities:

  1. High demand. Look for "problem fixing products".
  2. Not easily accessible. Look for products that are not available in stores or online through big retailers or Amazon.
  3. Popular. Look for trending products.
  4. Good profit margin. We recommend 3x what it costs you for the product.

We did a video that explains how and where to find winning products that you can watch here:

PS: If you decide to give Ecomhunt a try (one of the methods we recommend for finding winning products), here is our affiliate link: https://www.ecomhunt.com?afmc=2tp

Using our affiliate link does not cost you anything extra, it tells Ecomhunt we sent you and we may receive earnings for that referral.

We regularly post a selection of winning products on our YouTube channel, here is our latest one:

CURRENCY CONVERTER
I’d recommend adding in a currency converter since you ship worldwide. Here is a video we did showing some free currency converter app options:

SHIPPING
You need to add in an estimated shipping time at checkout. For some people, shipping time can be a deal breaker so they won’t proceed with their purchase without that information.
If you are concerned that displaying longer shipping times will turn people off, I would say that for some it might but long-term, you want happy customers so it's better to say up front, "hey, this could take up to 3-4 weeks to arrive" rather than not giving a shipping time and then getting an email 2 weeks later from an unhappy customer wondering where their package is.

BLURRY PHOTOS
I’ve noticed a number of photos throughout your store are blurry (ie. https://grumpykoala.co.uk/collections/headphones). This happens when you use an image that is too small for the given space. It will get stretched out to fill the area but when it does that you lose image quality and get that blurry/pixelated look. I’d recommend replacing your photos with better, high quality ones.

I will leave it at that for now but I’d like to invite you to join our private Facebook group. We share winning products, dropshipping tips and you can interact with other members of the dropshipping community. Click here to join.

Also, if you would like to talk to us 1-1, we offer sessions where we take a look at your store, identify the greatest issues holding you back, then provide solutions and advice. You can email us at ecomgeeksco@gmail.com for more information.

We hope our response was helpful, if it was, let us know by giving us a thumbs up and/or marking it as a solution!

Hello @GrumpyKoalaThis is AiTrillion- an All-in-one Marketing Platform on Shopify. Here are some suggestions that you can work on:

- Add a call to action button on the banner image. Don't leave a blank space in the header.

AiTrillion_0-1622629286457.png

- The text is not clearly visible. Add a call to action button here.

AiTrillion_1-1622629490580.png

- Product page looks good but you need to work on the layout of the homepage. Homepage recommended layout- The home page should flow better. I would recommend setting it out like this, top announcement bar, Slideshow banners, Collection List, Product Recommendations, product reviews, Newsletter sign-up box, Blog Posts, Instagram Feed & footer.

Add customer engagement tools like a loyalty rewards program, web push notifications, and others. If a customer leaves your store, send them a price drop alert notification with the help of a web push notification. Web push notification helps to bring back customers to your store and helps in reducing the bounce rate. You can send updates and abandoned cart push notifications to bring customers to your store.

Entice customers by giving them loyalty points on activities like sign up, leaving a review, allowing push notification, visiting a store, on birthdays, and more. This will help you to increase the email and push subscribers.

- Add an announcement bar to highlight important information that you don't want your customers to miss out on.

You can add a countdown timer with the title 'Offer may end soon' to create urgency for your promotions or offers with the countdown timer bar and motivate your customers to buy more from the store. It helps in increasing sales.

If you would like to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store you can install the all-in-one Shopify app AiTrillion. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hello @GrumpyKoala,

Congrats on launching your first online business, you must be pretty excited about generating your first sales 🙂

I have some feedback on your mobile product page, as this is where I'm specialised (mobile traffic usually accounts for more than 2/3 of the overall traffic)

  • Use Reviews to build trust for your visitors to convert (Yotpo or Loox are good apps to start with), if you do dropshipping you should be able to sync with the reviews from your provider, it's better than having no reviews at all
  • Add lifestyle images to your products image gallery, this is important as it gives a more branded experience to your visitors
  • Make use of the touchscreen (clicks, pinch-to-zoom gesture, swipe): on mobile this is crucial, you need to unlock mobile capabilities, especially taking into account that probably 2/3 of your traffic will come from mobile
  • Use native-like formats and navigation (navigate with scroll & swipe or click, like Zara for instance or Instagram)
  • CTA or Buy Now needs to be visible straight away when loading the product page so visitors can shop within a click + Add a Floating Button to emphasise this intent wherever your visitors are on the page. Get rid of the burger button (menu), this should not be the main intent when land onto a mobile product page

Have a look at this example which includes what your product page could look like after all the changes. If you like it, check out our app 🙂

Have a good day,

Arthur
