Low Website traffic no Sales

4 0 1

I recently opened my store and changed by profile look. I sell crystals and fashion items.  I’ve been promoting my products on different platforms and to no avail I am still getting low traffic and no sales.  Another factor that I thought about was maybe it’s the page speed but on my iPhone it loads pretty fast. Would like some feed back on getting more sales and less traffic and feedback on how my pages site is loading for you in your area. My shops website is www. kdelenay.com

Hi @Ashleykelly

This is PageFly - Free Landing Page Builder. I would love to provide my recommendation for your store based on 5 years of providing solutions for about 97.000 active Shopify merchants.

Add favicon to your store

Having a favicon for your store will make your store unique and help customers easily recognize it. You can check this article to know how to add it.

1. Home page

1.1 Add a CTA button on the hero banner

Kdelenay a fashion & gemstone shop – K.Delenay 2021-05-20 08-28-14.png

A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store.

With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, or a product page, etc. This really helps to increase the conversion rate for your store. You can make the heading on the banner on the hero as a clickable button.

1.2 Show store's collections

Showing Best selling products is a good thing so customers can check those products. However, I notice that your store provides a lot of collections but you don't show all. And because the menu is hidden (customers need to click the hamburger to open it) so many customers can miss other collections.

=> I highly recommend you should show all store's collections. And for each collection, you can show featured products.

You can consult my Chloe template

1.3 Add section about your brand story

A business can stand out with their brand story. A brand story helps customers understand more about your business and also helps your store look more professional.

1.4 Add testimonial - customer reviews

You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos.

You can use Loox or Yotpo app to review widgets with photos gallery because both of them integrate with PageFly already.

Or you can show testimonials in a slideshow, let’s consult my Stella template

Stella – PageFly 2020-12-09 09-11-17.png2. Product page

I take this page for example https://kdelenay.com/products/brightest-star-necklace?pr_prod_strat=collection_fallback&pr_rec_pid=6...

2.1 Make the product price more prominent and bigger

2.2 Add more images of different angles and the human model

You should show 3-5 different angles so customers can see details of the product. You can add images of the human model taking the product so customers can approximate the information such as length, overall fit.

To approximate the information such as overall fit, how it looks on their neck your store really needs to provide images of the product being worn on a human model because if some of the customers take a lot of time to think about how the products on their bodies, they can stop buying and find other websites.

2.3 Add a customer review section

A review widget is highly recommended on a product page so other customers can see others' feedback. With a review widget, there is a button to encourage customers to leave reviews. As I mentioned above, Loox and Yotpo are good.

This is a good way to encourage customers to view more products because your store is proactively giving them more choices.

=> What helps you to build your store more easily, especially what helps you to build all options I comment on above is a page builder.

It would be a good choice for you to have professional sites that look incredible on mobile & desktop without any extra coding, and you will have lots more time focusing on marketing strategies, so you can consider checking PageFly.

Hi @Ashleykelly

This is Spencer. If you just recently launched your store, your primary goal is to reach the following milestone:

1. Have monthly traffic of at least 2000 visitors.

2. Have a conversion rate of at least 2%.

If your store has low traffic then you need to be more aggressive with marketing.  It will also help with marketing if you only focus on a specific niche instead of offering a variety of products (eg. Just sell crystals or jewelry).  You can check this article for more tips and guide on e-commerce marketing:

Driving Growth: 11 Best Marketing Strategies Any Small Business Can Execute

I also noticed that Shopify's branding is showing at the bottom of your website. For a more professional look, I suggest that you remove this one. You can follow this article on how to do this:

Remove 'Powered by Shopify' from your store

Being successful in e-commerce is not easy, but it's certainly doable. If you keep these things in mind and be patient, I believe you will make it.

Hello @AshleykellyThis is AiTrillion- an All-in-one Marketing Platform on Shopify. I would love to share my thoughts for your store based on 9 years of experience with Shopify for over 1000's active Shopify merchants and hope that my sharing will help you improve your store performance.

- The first fold of the website should always have a call to action like 'Shop Now' in it -and here’s why; in most cases placing the CTA above the fold works wonders for your campaigns.

The home page should flow better. I would recommend setting it out like this. Slideshow Image- Collection List- Product Recommendations- Testimonials- Newsletter sign up box- Blog Posts- Instagram Feed.

- Run paid ads to drive a good amount of traffic to your store.

Add these customer engagement tools to your store to engage the traffic customers to your store & convert them:

- Reviews. Add reviews on the product page. 83% of people read reviews before making a purchase.

- Add an announcement bar to highlight important information that you don't want your customers to miss out on.

Start giving loyalty points on activities like on signing up, allowing for push notifications, follow or share on social media, on birthdays, visiting a store, leaving a review. This will help you to entice your visitors and will also increase the number of push subscribers, reviews, newsletter subscribers. A loyalty program helps in increasing sales and increasing the retention rate.

Setup web push notifications in your store and it will help you in reaching your customers and visitors directly. Retarget customers with the help of web push notifications.

You should use marketing automation tools that will help in better customer engagement & automation. You must set up proper email marketing campaigns, loyalty reward programs, web push notifications, or affiliate programs to increase engagement. To implement this you can install the all-in-one Shopify app AiTrillion, a full-fledged marketing solution. It will help you to capture visitors coming to your store and will help in getting more conversions.

Hi @Ashleykelly ,

After review of you store, I will advise you to install some social proof apps on the store. Most of the buyers will not buy if they did not found the site authentic. For first time buyer's you have to win their trust and social proof are great way to achieve that.

Also, you have not added any push notification app pan your store.Push notifications have high conversion rate. Most of the visitors just leaves after adding product to cart without purchasing it. Push notifications are great way to remind them of their abandoned cart and nudge them to complete the purchase.

You are really missing out with this core functionality which could easily recover some lost sales for you.

There are plenty of app on appstore which are offering push notification either for free or for very reasonable price.

I will recommend https://apps.shopify.com/cartbite

This one is offering abandoned cart ,back in stock and price drop notification on push and emails.

If this is helpful please up vote the answer so that other merchants can get benefit from it too
